Godo for you, honey! Learning how to cook is an important skill, whether ornot you get married one day! Be sure to get your college degree before trying to get a husband, ok?! ;-)
I love scallops grilled on a bbq pit, or in a grill pan indoors. I also like them baked or broiled in a lemon-garlic butter. The sa scallops (big) have to cook longer than bay scallops (little).
Sauteed Scallops
1½-2 pounds bay scallops
½ cup all-purpose flour
kosher salt and pepper to taste
3-4 Tbsp. olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
lemon wedges
chopped fresh parsley for garnish, optional
Wash scallops and pat dry. Put flour in a shallow bowl and season w/ salt and pepper. Roll scallops in seasoned flour. Heat olive oil over medium heat; add scallops and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Halfway through cooking, stir in minced garlic.
Stir in parsley and serve with lemon wedges. Serve with pasta or rice.

What a lovely interest! Just be sure that you enjoy cooking for yourself, and as mentioned earlier, head to college and build your own life and self confidence, too! :)
One of the easiest, most delicious ways to cook scallops is so simple it doesn't even require a "real" recipe. Buy a pack of bacon (mmm...yummy!) and some toothpicks. Soak the toothpicks in water for about 30 minutes before you use them (so they aren't dry wood with heat).
Wrap each scallop once in bacon (you can use one bacon slice for more than one scallop by cutting off the extra). Stick the toothpick through the middle to hold it in place, and lightly fry in your frying pan until the bacon is cooked. Bacon has its own fat so you don't even need to put anything in the pan (a little butter is yummy, though). When the bacon is ready, so are the scallops! You can bake them in a glass pan in the oven, too...on low heat.
Have fun cooking, sweetie, and be sure not to burn yourself (frying can splatter). :)

PAN FRIED SEA SCALLOPS

butter
minced garlic
lemons
parsley
paprika
Clean scallops.
Melt 3-4 tbsp butter in skillet. Add scallops and minced garlic to skillet.
Allow to cook for a 3-4 minutes, turning over. As scallops begin to brown slightly, squeeze fresh lemon over scallops.
Sprinkle with parsley and paprika to taste. Cook to desired browness and add additonal lemon and butter if needed.
Do not allow scallops to burn. Add more butter if needed for moisture. Let scallops turn very brown on each side.
Serve alone or over your favorite pasta.

Good for you!
Sauteed in a little butter and garlic is great. Just salt and pepper first. It's a good way to learn too because you can keep an eye on them to make sure they don't overcook.
I decided to add a link to a recipe, but if I were you I would try without the rosemary first unless you know everyone loves it. It is easy to overdo.
