I have dark brown hair with golden blonde highlights. I straighten my hair a lot and I know I shouldn't do it that often, but my hair is unmanageable when I don't. Due to the straightning and highlights, my hair gets really dry, escpecially where the highlights are and it makes the color look really bright. Do any of you know any products that may help with this problem? Thanks!

If you dye your hair alot, leave your hair alone and wait to dye it atleast 3 years later or so. Hair dye has terrible chemicals that kill dry/damage your hair.

Brush your hair before shampooing and conditioner so your hair won't be tangeled.

Don't wash your hair everyday try 3 times a week

Avoid combing hair while wet, use a wide tooth comb.

Deep condition twice a week

Trim your hair tips every 4-6 weeks.

While shampooing massage your scalp with your fingertips slowly, it's not necessary to shampoo the ends, then rinse with warm water.

When using a conditioner leave on for about 1-3 minutes so you can get great results then comb hair with wide tooth comb then rinse with very cold water to have shiny hair

If you use gel/hairspray/moose stop using them. They damage and dry up your hair.

If you use heat appliaces (blowdryers, curling irons, hair straightener) use a heat protecter spray so it'll protect your hair from heat.

If your in the sun alot buy a cap or a hoodie to protect your hair from the sun, heat damages and drys out your hair.

Buy a leave-in-conditioner/leave-in conditioner/creme to moisturize your hair all day long and don't rinse.

After your out of the shower set your blowdryer on cool setting and blowdryer your hair for 2 minutes, this will help seal the hair cuticles for a smooth shiny surface.

If you dye your hair do it atleast once a year, hair dye has terrible chemicals that kill your hair.

When your hair is completely healthy start using a shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair color longer and healthier, I reccomend John Frieda.

I straighten my hair every day, to help with damage and stress to my hair I use the following at home mask.

Eggs-traordinary Hair Mask

Ingredients:
2-Raw Eggs
1-Tablespoon Olive Oil
Approx. 4 Drops of Honey

Whisk all of the ingredients together like your about to make scrambled eggs or something. Drench your hair in the mixture. I mean, like, SOAK it, but don’t make it drippy. It will feel really weird. Leave it in until the mixture dries on your hair (could be an hour and a half or so). Shampoo a bunch until you are SURE you got all of it out. Wash hair however you normally do and style like normal. Hair will be softer and shinier than before. Repeat once every other week for optimum results.

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.
First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed & remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

ok, i have the same combo, and i used to constantly straighten it, put every product in the world in it, and enything else you can do. the best way to make your hair nurished, is get a shampoo and conditioner that moisterizes. after shampooing, apply conditioner. but, instead of rinsing it after a minuet of letting it sit, leave it in your hair for a few hours. then rinse it out. do this each time you wash your hair. it really works and after a week or two your hair shouldnt be dry!!! by the way, tresseme is a good product. they have color treated shampoos and conditioners too. so, good luck!! :)
