You will need to have a local gun shop order it for you from the manufacturer. I don't believe you can buy one online.
.50 caliber rifles are illegal in California.
(CBS) California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger decided there’s a weapon that’s too dangerous to be in the hands of private citizens.
This past week, a new law went into effect in California banning that weapon. It’s the .50-caliber rifle, the Rolls Royce of sniper rifles. It’s a big gun, a favorite of armies around the world, and it’s still available in 49 states in this country to anyone over 18 with a clean record.

Depends on where you live and which .50 caliber cartridge you want. The .50 BMG is not for hunting in any stretch of the sportsman's imagination, nor is it legal in Kalifornia. If you're hunting, you're not sniping; which de facto makes it a hunting rifle, not a sniper rifle. When a sniper uses a Remington 700 deer gun to do his job, it de facto becomes a sniper rifle and not a hunting rifle. Sniper is a job, not an adjective. The .50 Beowulf, .50 Action Express, .500 Wyoming Express, and .500 S&W Magnum are all good hunting rounds. For that matter, .50 is the most popular caliber for muzzleloading rifles.

If you did have a "Gun License" then you would know that you buy guns (no matter what caliber it might be) at a Gun Shop. You might even be able to get one through a person that has a FFL and a supplier that carry 50 caliber rifles and ammo.

Just find a gun store that has one. I saw one (a 50 BMG) the last time I was at the local gun store.

The only .50 rifle you can buy online is black powder (muzzle-loader, or the modern equivalent). If you're referring to the .50 BMG type, any shop should be able to order it for you. Without a dealer's license, you can't have it shipped to you.
