Europeans dont immigrate to central and south america, lmao...they travel periodically on vacation, just like we do. It's not just latin america, but all 3rd world countries who seek the U.S. for a better life. It's geography that makes the U.S. a desirable place to imigrate too...now if India, Pakistan, and even China were next door to us...their people would immigrate to the u.s. as much as these other countries do.

So the Euro is higher than the $, what exactly has that to do with who emigrates to where? And Europeans going to Latin America for culture? I know some people in Europe are more than a little confused about conditions in the US, but nobody can be that confused.

Just because the dollar is falling does not mean that Europeans are not immigrating. Studies have shown that Germany and other European countries are seeing lots of emmigration and the United States is still getting European immigrants everyday. Have you ever been to NYC - lots of European immigrants.
Afalling dollar actually should mean more Europeans would come here - their European dollars would be worth more in US dollars - thus they would be richer in the United State - however, this assumes that no purchasing power parity has already equalized out the values.

There's simply a lack of economic oportunity in thier own nations. Some of them are under-developed, others are stratified and corrupt (to a greater degree than America, anyway), some are authoritarian or flirting with communism.
