We're reasonably good at producing the lighter oils but not so good at producing the heavier oils such as tars, bitumens, greases, industrial oils and some fuel oils such as marine diesel. We also need to keep practicing with the more refined oils such as aviation fuel.
We can make fuel for vehicles in the form of bio-diesel and the like but it's not yet particularly cost effective and uses a lot of agricultural land, of which there's already something of a shortage.
It certainly makesw sense to preserve the stocks we have but things aren't necessarily as bad as they're sometimes made out to be. It's probable that the oil will last for another 100 years, we have known reserves that will last about 30 years and maybe another 20 years worth of reserves that we haven't yet found. On top of this there's huge quantities of oil than can be extracted from tar-sand, we've ignored this so far because it's more costly to extract than conventional oil.
A viable alternative to oil would not only be environmentally beneficial but also economically beneficial as well.
Several of the major oil companies have recently seen the future potential of developing alternative fuels and energy sources and are now expanding their operations into researching and developing these ideas. With the resources and finances of the oil industry getting involved I think there could be some significant developments within the next 10 to 20 years. Perhaps not as revolutionary as a car that runs on air or water (both do exist) but perhaps cheap production of synthetic oil substitutes.

Yes, but like they say on TV you can make biofuels from corn and other plants its just a very hard and expensive process and oil companies dont care about the environment they just care about getting money and not getting sued.

You can't. It's impossible. If we run out of oil, so what? We can't get in our cars and drive our fat butts from point A to point B anymore? Who cares?
