Did you try these places?

Belmont Station
4520 SE Belmont, Portland (503) 232-8538

Fred Meyer Hollywood West
3030 N.E. Weidler, Portland (503) 280-1309

Liquid Solutions
12162 SW Scholls Ferry Road, Tigard (503) 524-9722

Hoegaarden is a great Belgian Witbier considering its wide distribution. I'd be surprised if you didn't find it at the local specialty suppliers. Anyway, find those suppliers and if they don't have it, tell them you're looking to find a good Belgian White (Witbier) and they might have some tasty alternative wheat beers for him to try. Some that come to my mind:

Weihenstephan Hefeweiss
Schneider Aventinus
Wittekerke

Good luck.

I live in Seattle and the only place i can find it is at Whole Foods. Also sometimes you can put in a special request at Albertsons for it and they can get it for you.
