In Exodus, chapter 20, we read the Ten Commandments, and are told that we should not commit adultery. Adultery however is not defined as simply having sex outside of marriage. It's defined as having sex with a married person. Nothing is said to prohibit sexual relations between two unmarried people. In fact, if we look in the book of Leviticus, we are given a list of every situation in which we should not have sex. We're not to have sex with married people, or with family members, or with animals. We are not, however, prohibited from having sex with an unmarried person who is not in our family.
Some places in the bible, such as Mark 7:21, state that "fornication" is a sin. Christians like to interpret that as meaning "sex outside of marriage." It's not true. The Greek translation identifies "fornication" as being any "illicit (illegal) sexual activity." However, as we saw above, God did not mention sex between two unmarried people as being illicit.

This is more directed at the people who have answered--
In the Bible, in Deuteronomy 22:23, it says "If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her, you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death—the girl because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man's wife. You must purge the evil from among you."
NOTE that it does not say that the man should be killed because he slept with her without being married to her. It says he should die because he chose to sleep with someone who had already committed herself to another man.
NOTE that it does not say that the woman should be killed because she slept with a man without being married to him..She was to be killed because she was already committed to another man, making her the same as already married.
Just some food for thought for the people think they have all the answers yet have not read or tried to contemplate the meanings behind the scriptures. Most people listen to what their parents, pastors, etc. tell them about what the Bible does and does not say and never do any investigating for themselves, and this is a tragedy.

Interesting...
You become one flesh with those you have sex with.
Wouldn't you rather become one flesh and stay with that the person as opposed to being spread out so thinly?
I'll have to ponder this one and do some studying. Thank you.

Fornication includes sex outside of wedlock. If your read your bible with understanding you can clearly see this. Why did Paul say it is better to marry than to burn? In Deuteronomy two unmarrieds having sex meant death.Sex is for those who are married and sin is sin. None of us are perfect it is the reason Christ came to the world. All have sinned and all need the atonement God provided.

It's not like the Christians protesting sex are doing so because they read their Bibles. They're doing so because their preachers told them not to have sex.
And most of them have sex anyway.

have you ever heard "consumate" the marriage/
Sex is the act in which 2 become one flesh.......
Marriage is not about the wedding or ceremony, it is about the act. Virginity (or fleshly purity) is a highly held virtue to God.

Matthew 5:
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God”
(Matt. 5:8).
sexual transgression is sin. It is contrary to the will of the Lord. … It is contrary to the happiness and well-being of those who indulge in it.
“You should recognize, you must recognize, that both experience and divine wisdom dictate virtue and moral cleanliness as the way that leads to strength of character, peace in the heart, and happiness in life.

mankind says things are right ..they live by their decisions...and the end of it afterwards is death.
God has standards...we are to be chaste even within the marriage...in that we stick to our mate and no other person is permitted in to defame the marriage bed.
Loose conduct is forbidden. Sex outside of marriage is forbidden....incest forbidden..beastiality forbidden....masturbation forbidden.....pedophilia forbidden...lusting forbidden....coveting forbidden.

I don't think you need to be making excuses to yourself to have premarital sex, I would say just go ahead and do it!
