The rule for liquids is 3 three ounce containers in a one qt. plastic bag...so no, you cannot take a 6 pack of beer. see website below.

Beer itself is not a prohibited carry-on item, but it does fall under the new 3-ounce rule (limit on liquids that can be carried on). You can't take a 12-pack, or even a single 12-ounce can of beer (or any liquid) through security screening. You could, however carry on a small (50ml) bottle of liquor in baggage, as long as you do not consume it on the plane.

You must purchase it at the stores by the gates. These stores will seal the container bags with a special plastic tie that will let the airline that it hasn't been tampered with. If you break the seal, the airline will confiscate it. I haven't seen beer at the duty free shops, but I definitely always get my couple bottles of rum when I visit PR!

No, not unless you buy it in the duty free part of the airport. If you bring it, they will confiscate it. I know. What a waste of beer. Imagine what the guards do with it.

Call the airline, I'm pretty sure you can take sealed alcohol, but to be safe call your airline. Liquid substances have been under a lot of inspection lately.
