It probably won't. It will just make things more complicated.

Firstly, if your cousin applied for citizenship, he/she is not an illegal. Our courts are overwhelmed these days so there's no telling how long it would take, and the new bill won't make it any faster. Have either you or your cousin gone to the courthouse to ask what the status of the petition is?

If your cousin applied for citizenship then he is not illegal so it will probably slow him down.

You need to make the distinction between legal and illegal.

Illegal people are the only ones who will benefit, not the citizens, of whom the government should be taking care.

It is not aproved yet. The senate aproved it and now is going to the Congress. I think that your Cousing will cotinue his regular path. Once you are in the immigration system, you are not illegal and you are not legal...you are in a transitory status...The law will be affect only illegal aliens.

It allows them to become legal immediately, under a 'z-visa.' Though it includes provisions that might actually make it take longer to become a citizen than if you'd just aplied legally yesterday, the z-visa is good indefinitely, you could live the rest of your life in the US under one, and your kids born hear would be citizens, anyway.
