Yes I think he does have the talent to do it. He just needs great equipment which he has not had. I dont care what Jr. bashers have to say. They just hate him because his last name is Earnhardt.

Good question and to be perfectly honest I havent a clue.Everyone makes a big deal out of him having better equip. at Hendricks and while that may be true to some degree,D.E.I. isnt the minor leagues.Look at Martin. But what will be different is Dale will be happier at H.M.S. and a happy driver is a better driver. But it's hard to win the cup it takes more then a little luck to go with Dale jrs. immense talent. Its like his dad trying to win at Daytona for all those years,no one doubted he had the talent but sometimes the stars have to be inline.

i think Jr. does have what it takes to win the nextel cup NEXT year. trust me when i say i am NOT a jr. fan at all i believe that the only reason he is big is b/c of his dad aka --just a name. but i kno that jr. can drive when he really tries and next year at Hendrick he will have the right equipment and all to win.

I think he has always had the talent. Now that he has the equipment, if he starts winning races and championships, we will know that its the equipment that he had at DEI that was preventing him from winning. Now, if Kyle Busch goes to DEI, and starts winning all these races, then we will know that it has nothing to do with equipment and everything to do with the talent of the driver. So I guess we'll just wait and see.

He will certainly be out of excuses if he doesn't, won't he? I think he's got the best shot of making a run on the championship than he's ever had because Rick Hendrick is great to his drivers and he has the best cars and crews.

Taking the cup means you have to be consistent and have talent on numerous types of tracks. Junior lacks that talent.

To the guy who said that because Junior won the Daytona 500 we know he can drive.....remember, so did Derrick Cope, so what's your point? (plus, junior only seems to be able to win restrictor plate tracks)

He certainly has what it takes, but I don't think he will do it next year, it will take more than a year for the whole team to get on the same page as far as what the driver wants from the car and whatnot... I think he will be a serious contender for the cup in 2009 and will win it in 2010... Just my 2cents
