She said that the guy said he likes her, and that they are planning on meeting this Friday. I kinda freaked out, but at the same time, if they both like each other, I don't believe there is nothing wrong with that.

I read most of the things people wrote, and I want to take her out of this, but I don't know how to, how can I explain her parents of what's going on without hurting her?

im 14 too....trust me is ok, although i only date guys no more than 5 years older than me...my best firend is dating a guy she's 15 and he's 23 and they have been 9 months together and nothing bad has happened.
anyway, you should advice her that because he is older he may only want sex with her, but always support her....i can be wrong.....but men at that age is propably only sex. DONT SPY ON HER! you can ask her if she enjoyed her date and always to be careful....if she has a question, tell her never to doubt on saying it to you....and that you want the best for her

If it's just a crush then it's nothing to worry about. However, if they are actually seeing each other then someone needs to step in. I would be less concerned about the 14 year-old liking the 22 year-old than I would the other way around.
Any 22 year-old who hooks up with a 14 year-old had problems. Probably the easiest solution would be to simply remind the 22 year-old that he could go to jail for getting involved with the 14 year-old. If that doesn't scare him off, then a call to the police might be in order. I'm not going to make the leap and say the 22 year-old is a child molester or sexual predator, but he clearly has issues if he has to hook up with a 14 year-old.
Also keep in mind that while the law says a 14 year-old can't give consent, that doesn't mean she won't do whatever she pleases. That's why a warning to the guy is probably the best place to start.

do no longer walk; run from this occasion. A 14 year previous isn't sufficiently old to "think of" approximately getting married least of all incredibly doing it. Then, a 25 year previous guy could desire to be jailed for even drawing near the area of speaking marriage and/or intercourse with a 14 year previous. Your father and mom, in the event that they gave their consent would be jailed themselves for permitting a 25 year previous to pass into into any variety of marriage or sexual courting with their 14 year previous. on your father and mom it truly is declared as overlook and abuse. The time will come while it truly is going to likely be the nicely suited time so you might get married and have a staggering married existence. that element will in no way be now or interior the subsequent say 6 to 10 years. bypass decrease back to college and get a robust training, decelerate and look ahead to the nicely suited time and guy; then, make the call to marry. Your interest now's to get a robust training and create the terrific existence for your self which you additionally could make by way of making stable judgements. all the terrific to you. You deserve it.

I think it's a recipe for disaster.
An eight year age difference wouldn't be bad if we were talking 29 to 21. But there is a big difference between being 22 years old and 14 years old.
A 22 year old guy is probably pretty sexually experienced, while a 14 year old girl is still pretty romantic, dreamy, and innocent. I kind of fear that a 22 year old guy might 'educate' her too quickly and rudely. I really think a 14 year old would be best off dating guys who are about 13-to-17 years old. I think guys more her own age are going to be less worldly, and they will discover things together, in a gentler, more natural fashion.

Why would you even need to ask that question? You know what- You should ask Stone Phillips from Dateline NBC- I think he talks to those kind of men a lot.
That guy is a predator!!
You are a complete idiot for not knowing that. You should be freaked out by that. You should have the cops meet him on Friday. They will take care of him.
Edit***
How can you tell her parents without hurting her? How old are you? If you are an adult, you should realize that sometimes we have to upset children to protect them. You should not worry about you hurting her- you should worry about him hurting her. If you don't tell her parents and something happens, you WILL be to blame. This is along the same lines of her using drugs- it is just one of those thins you need to tell her parents. Whenever a child is doing something destructive, the parents need to be aware. Will she be mad at you now? Yeah, probably, but she will get over it. If she meets him and he molests her, will she be mad at you in 10 years for not stopping it? yeah Probably- but she may not get over that. Gosh stop worrying about how telling her parents will negatively affect her and start being an adult. Think about how this sicko will hurt her. She is not even old enough to be making these decisions. She is probably just starting puberty- she is so not ready for this. She really should not be dating guys her own age yet, let alone sick adults.
Be an adult- tell her parents and the cops. Also you need to call his commanding officer in the Military. They will take care of him. He doesn't deserve to wear the uniform.

I'd say it's okay for her to like him. It's not okay for him to like her. Does that make any sense...? Years ago, and still in some place, that's even the norm. But there are vast differences between the legal freedoms of a 14 and 22 year old. Drinking. Voting. Smoking. Access to Adult Material. Marry. Have Sex. Technically he can't even take her to a rated "R" move without her parents consent!
I don't think there's anything wrong with dating, but sleeping together would be technically illegal. Not that I think it should be, but it is.
And you always have to ask yourself why a 22 year old is interested in a 14 year old?

Hey, I'm a sixteen year old boy.. so I might not know the most about this sorta thing,,, however, I do work at as a lifeguard and 10-15 year olds "hit on me" all the time. It seems like its kind of like a girl having a crush on a teacher, or a bunch of guys talking about a hot mom.. It is normal to freak out and older guys tend to hook up with younger girls for obvious reasons... Talk to your niece's parents. Do they know? And fourteen is a little young to be seriously dating.. Good Luck!!!!

Well, I can see maybe if they were 2-3 years apart. Maybe even 4, but 8 years apart is a bit much. Does her mother know about it? Maybe you should get to know the guy before she meets him. And I mean get to know him good. A man that old could take advantage of your niece because she's still young and naive. Some people are more mature and are attracted to more mature people, so maybe she's really mature for her age. Or, it could be that he is really immature for his age and is attracted to younger people. But still, that age difference is something to be concerned about. Don't be too hard on your niece... she just likes a boy and that's normal. Just talk to her about the age difference and tell her that maybe it'd be better if she waited until she's older to date someone that mature.

Well, if that's how things turned out, I guess you really can't help it. I recommend you being a little cautious, and keeping updated about how things are going-- because of his age, he might possibly take advantage of her (no offense).
Personally, I'd say, if they were to get serious, I would have the girl wait a few years until she reaches a fair level of maturity, or at least makes it to be 18 or 20.
I guess I know how it feels, though, because when I was 13, I fell in love with a 17 year-old; can't really be helped. It's either going to progress or fade.
In my case, nothing happened.

Heck no!!!!! And if you're older than her, you need to tell her that it's absolutely NOT going to happen. 14 is too young to even be getting involved with someone your own age... but condoning a meeting between a 14 year old and 22 year old is LUNACY! What happens if he rapes her? Be it statutory or otherwise?? What GOOD do you think this guy can have in mind meeting a girl that is 14, obviously way younger and less experienced in every way than her.8 years age difference is .... wow.
You need to lead her in the RIGHT direction and tell her NO, and if she even thinks about it you'll inform her parents/guardian.
