Last December I underwent a cystoctomy.
Since then I have suffered extremely painful bowel movements, resulting from severe constipation and ensuing fissures. I am much 'easier' now but never completely free of anal pains. I had assumed that this was hemorrhoidal brought about by the straining. Now I am beginning to wonder if it isn't some sort of food allergy. Some days the sphinctre is tender and swollen.............and very painful to pass motions. yet on other days the swelling subsides and the pain far less.
Has anyone else sufferd this problem and can give me an answer as to the cause/cure?

I really suggest you see your doctor regarding this. While anything is possible, I seriously doubt that your sphincter swelling and tenderness has any relation to a food allergy. While you can have tenderness with a lot of spicy food, swelling isn't usually noted. Please see your doctor to make sure you don't have a new problem or a complication going on.
