Not stupid at all, very good question, and if you like roasted garlic, you'll LOVE it from the grill........cut the entire bulb of garlic in half crosswise, put it on several sheets of foil, add some olive oil and salt and pepper and seal it up......and plop it on the grill and turn it every 10 minutes or so.......and have some good bread to spread those little morsels of yumminess on......Enjoy!!

My friend sent me this recipe and it is good!!!
4 unpeeled garlic bulbs
3/4 cup [190 mL] chicken broth
Few sprigs fresh thyme
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Cut off 1/3rd from the top part of each unpeeled garlic bulb to uncover the top of cloves(this way, garlic bulbs will not 'explode' while heating).
Into a small foil container arrange garlic bulbs side-by-side, cut-end on top.
Pour in chicken broth; add thyme sprigs and season with salt and pepper.
Cover with foil.
Transfer onto barbecue rack.
Barbecue for approximately 1 hour.

put the bulbs in some tinfoil, coat with some olive oil and any herbs you like - maybs a sprig or two of thyme or rosemary, seal it all up and cook on the bbq till all nice and squishy and soft! i love roast garlic soooooooooooo much, is ace just squeezing it out of the skin onto some warm fresh bread. i was just thinking it would be nice to do lots of them on the barbie then soften lots of de stalked mushrooms in butter, squeeze a clove into each cap, then top with a mix of cream cheese and some fresh cracked pepper, then bake in the oven for 15 mins or so. what do you think? im going to try it tomo lol

Cut the top off the garlic and drizzle a little olive oil into it. Then wrap it in tin foil and put on the grill for at least 20 minutes. You should get some nice smoky roasted garlic.

I think I'd wrap it in aluminum foil and put on the grill for 15 to 20 minutes. Then break off the cloves, and squeeze the meat out of the husk onto some toast and eat. Just like baking in the oven.
