Companies are required to have your W-2 form to you by the end of Janurary for the previous calander year.

If you worked there during 2006: You might call the place or go in and see if they have it, or if you moved and didn't give them your new address it might have been lost in the mail. If they just don't have one for you, you can either report them to the IRS for not having it in time, or just ignore it and file your taxes without it.

If you worked there sometime in 2007, forget about it, you use your 2006 tax information to fill out your school paperwork for the 07-08 school year so it doesn't matter anyway.

Your taxes should have been filed by April 17. Normally the cut off date is April 15 for federal and state income taxes. If you file now (very late) you will be penalized and have to pay fines and interest on those fines, along with your taxes.

If you worked at the place this year (2007) you will not get a W-2 until January 2008. If you were not employed last year (2006) then you have no taxes to file, but if you did, you should have already filed them. Taxes are always a year behind. The taxes you should have filed this year (2007) are from 2006's employment. I hope that answers your question about taxes. The FAFSA form usually looks at income from the past 2 years (2005 & 2006).

You should try to get your W-2 from them. If they're still in business, call them and ask them to send you a copy or if it's nearby, tell them you'll pick it up. If they don't, you can call the IRS and let them know you never got it, and they'll notify them and maybe light a fire under them.

If you have your last paystub so you know what you were paid and what was withheld, you can file and use those numbers.

If you just skip that W-2 and file for any other income you had that year, eventually when the IRS runs their matching program they'll notify you that you are missing one, and if you owe taxes because of it, they'll tell you how much you owe - by then, penalties and interest will be added.

If you just file without it, and use those numbers for your FAFSA, you'd be knowingly putting false numbers on your FAFSA, never a good idea.

You can electronically file return. Form W-2 is not attached. You will need some of the info from it or paystub in order to file. You can also mail in return without W-2 attached with no problem unless wages are very high even thou the forms say "attach w-2 here".
