I recently got my hair cut and I have a long layered hair cut, with angling in toward my face. Every other time it came out fine, with the same stylist. This time on one side, the hair sticks out and does the opposite of what the other side does. What should I do? I hate it! and I don't want to cut it off short. I went back to the stylist to make sure it was evenly cut it was fine. Is there any styling products out there to help tame layered cuts? Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with my regular hairdresser. I also have my hair in layers and on one occasion, the stylist was in a rush; when I got home and washed my hair a few days later, I realised she hadn't cut it properly at all.

I went back and very nicely explained something was wrong; I was a regular customer there of many years. The stylist was a total cow about it, so I then asked for the manager. Once the manager and another stylist examined my hair, they admitted that it was a terrible cut and they immediately put it right.

You are the expert on your own hair. If every other time you've been happy, but suddenly now you're not, then THERE IS A REASON!

Go back again and be assertive. Point out that you've never had reason to complain before. If necessary ask for the manager. Personally, I wouldn't let the same stylist do your hair again, because quite apart from anything else, she'll be brandishing sharp scissors very near your face and of course she won't like you going back a second time with a complaint - no matter how nice you are about it!

Phone and speak to the manager, and arrange for someone else to put your hair right. Or ask for your money back and go elsewhere. Good luck with it!

When you go in for a cut, go for a cut and style.
A good hairdresser will tell you what products she is
using on your hair, and how to use them.

Go to your nearest beauty supply store (like Sally Beauty supply) and ask the licensed beautician there what products you can buy to achieve the result you are looking for.

Beauty supply stores usually carry a wide variety of products, so there is no 'agenda' to sell one over the other.

Good luck!
