Why would I add Jimmie Johnson onto this list? He's already successful.

OMG people!! I asked specifically FROM THIS LIST. No, I'm not going to add Gordon, Johnson or Jr. First off, a couple of those are already successful. And second, my list of people are some showing an attempt or some who haven't shown anything.
Does every freaking question have to pertain to Gordon, Johnson or Dale Jr?? Dang.

Firstly, let me make the comment that I believe (base on your criteria) that Casey Mears should be on that list.
Having said that, here are my picks:
Level 1
Casey Mears
Brian Vickers
A.J. Allmendinger
These drivers are all likable individuals, fans will like them and buy their merchandise, sponsors will want to support them and team owners will want to hire them. These drivers all have personality and are very interesting to interview. They are also more polished that some other drivers and have a ton of talent. Don't like the results this year fool you, Vickers has proven that when he makes a race he races in the top 10, look for 2008 to be a break through year for Vickers. A.J. is also very talented but hasn't gotten much chance to show it this year (remember Vickers had a few years in cup competition before he joined red bull, A.J. is essentially learning part time). Casey Mears is already beginning to shine and that will only continue in the coming years.
Level 2
Regan Smith
Denny Hamlin
Kyle Busch
Reed Sorenson
These level 2 drivers have great talent, however they are not as likable (namely Kyle Busch) or as interesting characters (Smith, Sorenson & Hamlin) as the Level 1 drivers. Hamlin and Kyle Busch also need to learn to be team players. Hamlin is quick to get on TV and throw his team under the bus week in and week out "We should have taken two tires, that was dumb", "They lost me another race in the pits". This is a team sport, you win as a team, you lose as a team. You never hear Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, or even the outspoken Tony Stewart talk about their teams like that to the media. The drivers must have a good chemistry and relationship with the team, drivers with big egos (Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Montoya) will never be superstars (even though Kurt won a championship) and be consistently winning because they always have an issue with their team... who wants to work with someone like that?
Those are my picks!

Out of the drivers on your list I think Denny and Kyle will be more successful in the next couple of years(2 to 5). They still have a lot of growing up to do. When they decide to calm down and stop throwing temper tantrums like my 6 yr. old they are going to be a force to reckon with. In 10 years I see Brian Vickers as one of the standouts. The boy does have the racing ability, but I just needs to find the right people to mesh with.
I know you said just the ones on the list but maybe you should add Matt Martin. I'm not sure exactly how old he is, but I think in 10 years he will be old enough to race in the Busch or Cup Series. The little guy has talent and the level head that his dad has. I know I'll be pulling for him!

Regan Smith, learning from Mark Martin and last year did awesome in the Busch series and slowly transitioning to cup this year. Remember Marky Marks last protege....Matt Kenseth, need I say more. Ginn Racing is slowly growing as a team and he will become their top driver. So look out for Regan.
Would Have like to see David Ragan on the list though think he might do some things in a couple years.

Out of the people you listed my guess is Hamlin and possibly Kyle if he finds the right team and grows up a tad.But you left off Jimmy Johnson I'm not sure if you think hes to old to be racing in 10 years or to successful already, but in either case my vote is Johnson.

What about Truex Jr??
From your list Denny Hamlin, just look what he has done in the one and a half seasons he has been around!
Truex Jr has showed that he will be a force to contend with in future years also!

Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch because they are both really young and really talented. Both have shown that they can run with the big dogs and I look forward to seeing what they can do for the sport in the years to come.

From this list I would choose Kyle Busch because I think he is a good driver and will mature with experience. Curious though why not Jimmie Johnson?

Denny Hamlin would top my list also. I think it will be hard to count out Truex Jr. too. Others would be Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch, and Brian Vickers.
