Hmm... let's see, where to start? Okay, apart from the fact that the bible was written by a barbaric, morally reprehensible, scientifically illiterate people, I'd have to say that it's a tricky thing claiming infalliblity from a book that needs a certain amount of rigorous interpretation every now and then. Damn you, science!

Where does is say this?

Where in the Bible does it define the constituent documents of the Bible? And then does it say believe this set and no other?

What do you mean by believe the Bible?

Why "believe"? I think the Bible is a valuable cultural document, and I enjoy studying it.

I DO, Darling.

some people say the bible and the whole God Thing, doesn't make sense but it makes more sense than to say the world was created from evolution.

if you put in sprinkles and rubbers and water and sand into a microwave on High for a thousand years will it ever produce an apple tree or a tall blond sexy girl ? that's what Darwin was basically trying to say.

somebody - i don't care who- must have created this world and all the animals and people.

I believe the Bible because it has been historically proven to be true. There is internal and external evidence to back up the truth of the Bible, not that it is needed. I believe the Bible mainly because it tells me that Jesus died for me and for all the mistakes I've made! Now that, to me, is enough reason to believe!

So what "It says I should".

When we were little we were told to believe in Santa Claus but we KNOW that it's fake.

The BIble is a evil, illogical book.

Who lives for "900" years?

Heck who lives for "500" years?

"300", "200" even?

Just that gives me enough reason not to believe in it.

I once said that I was an omnipotent goddess who always speaks truth.

Somehow, people didn't take *my* saying such as proof that I was right. It just doesn't occur to Christians that the Bible is wrong about quite a bit.

I do believe in the Bible. The Bible is full of myths (eternal truths), errors & contradictions...but the overall truth of the Bible is just that...true. God actually is real in spite of all those errors & contradictions. People transcribed from the original Hebrew & Greek...people make mistakes...lots of them but that does not make God unreal. I make mistakes...lots of them...but that does not mean I am not real.
I am not perfect...but I am real. The Bible is not perfect...but God is still real.

Don't look for errors & contradictions....Look for the overall big picture of the Lving God. It is there.

Its full of rules and regulations designed to keep men in charge. As a woman its a little hard for me to swallow all that BS. Plus I'm really not into polygamy or human and animal sacrifices.

Just because the phone book has most of the local numbers in it doesn't mean I can't use the internet to find a number faster.

I know.. I've read it enough times.
Astronomically inaccurate.
Scientifically inaccurate.
Historically inaccurate.
If there is such a god, I won't worship him on moral grounds. He's a megalomaniacal sociopath with the maturity of a 2 year old.
