someone told me that if i wore black nail polish it meant that i was an evil satanist. They said that it originated from the wickens and that it was considered evil and that gils who wore it didn't know what they were getting into. I'm a Christian and i don't want to come off "evil", but didn't this person blow it way out of proportion? Does anyone have some advice? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE! 10 pnts. to the best answer! ;)

I don't think it is satanist, but not sure it is very feminine either.

black nail polish doesn't mean your a Satanist. that person was just screwing with your head. nail polish is a fashion statement, not a religious belief. the ancient Egyptians wore black nail polish and they didn't even know who Satan was. You won't come off as evil i promise

This person is definitely blowing it way out of proportion.

Black nail polish is simply a paint-like covering that happens to make your fingernails appear black. There are no supernatual overtones or religious conotations to the substance beyond those that exist in this guy's head.

If you like black nail polish, by all means wear it.

My mom is a probational officer and it is true that Satanists wear it. They have a system to see how high one ranks from another. If you paint all ten nails black you are considered like a priest.
But being a Christian, it shouldn't mean anything.
And also God said to avoid even appearance of evil.

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Who ever said that does not seem to know to much about religion. Nail polish (any color, lol) has nothing to do with you or your dean.

Oh no I have on dark berry it looks almost black and I am a hijab wearing Muslim I wonder what the Christains think of me, lol.

Sweetie do not care what anyone in this world thinks of you EVER only care what GOD thinks of you.

I don't think its really the black nail polish itself, its the message it sends because so many people into bad things happen to wear black. As long as you don't go all black I don't see what the problem is as long as you still act like a Christian. In my opinion, black is just not a summery color.

I think they blew it out of proportion, but I have friends who are Satanist, emo, and Gothic, and they all wear black nail polish. So I can see where they would get the idea.

I don't think it is. However, many associate dark, sullen, anti-religious, people with those who dress in dark colors, wear dark boots, tights, dyed dark hair with bright colored highlights, dark lipstick, dark trench coats and dark nails. While I realize this may be far away from the truth, it is a concept that has been reinforced through the media and music. So, you can continue to dress as you like, just be aware that some people relate how you dress and present yourself with a certain idea.

Seriously. Someone thinks that the color of your nail polish says something about your spiritual beliefs? That is so out of proportion I can't even begin to respond. Wiccans were not the first ones to wear nail polish!

I'll find the group for you who is a Christian rock group but also has black nails....BRB

It's called Christian Metal....BTW the rainbow once signified Gods promise but now it's been twisted by the world to represent gays. I think the black nails is to you what you make it. It's just a style and on some people it looks cool. I like it.
