The bird was $12.99
The cage was $40
Pellet (seed is like giving them McDonald's for a steady diet, NOT good) is about $12 a bag, which lasts about three weeks for my five birds.

My first one was $15 and the cage was $40 but that's only because I got a vision cage because then it can't throw seeds and it's really easy to clean. Usually cages are around $20-$30 and the food is between $5 and $10 depending upon the brand and kind. Toys are very expensive! I spent about $20 just getting a couple small, cheap toys so from then on I've been making my own toys.

The birds are cheap, about $8-20 depending on where u live, its twelve dollars in queens, NY. whats weird is that the cage cost 2-5 times that amount

The last parakeet I had cost only about $15. The cage and stand were considerably more. I think about $50. Other odds and ends - $20.

i got mine from the swap meet and each bird was like 7 dollars and the cage was like 20
