define sex!
homosexuals can not have intecourse with their partner. this sex act produces offspring. it is exclusive to heterosexuals.
everything else is recreational (homo ,hetero or whatever)
our orientation provides the impetus or desire, but our intellect helps us to discern whether the sex we crave is productive or not. We can chose productive or unproductive sex.
many heteros , homos and others choose unproductive sex. some (homo's ) can only choose unproductive sex.
Nature prescribes for heterosexual unions precisely because it alone perpetuates the species.
With this is it is hihgly logical for homosexuals to marry those of the opposite sex and raise children or remain single. We often must do things we dont desire to do in life.
The sinfulness of the recreational sex act applies to homosexuals and heterosexuals alike, yet we dont normally see heterosexuals looking to the church to allow their forms of aberrant sex acts to be condoned or even embraced, which is why homosexuality is the focus of sexual sin in society.
Homosexuals need to keep their sexual fantasies to themselves, find other means to resolve legal problems with regards to their chosen partners, and live their lives. when they march in gay pride events, and push their political agenda on others , people have a tendency to push back even harder.
as much as many show open hostility to this question you pose, they should give pause to the countless numbers of people who dont like the insinuation that those who disagree with homosexuality are to be labeled as hateful , evil and sinful for doing so.
People should stop assuming the intentions of the questioner and answer the question in the same way they wish a question to be asked.
"do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

So, heterosexual people can go have sex with the people they find desirable, as they desire people of the opposing gender, but homosexual people can't because they desire people of the same gender?
Sorry, but while yes people can abstain from sex, you should also realise it's a biological drive, and as such, it is unnatural to forgo sex for your entire life.
And before anyone says it, while yes you could have sex with someone of the opposing gender, as a homosexual, it is a rather unpleasant prospect. So, why should we make do abstaining or only having sex with people we are no attracted to, and we will not enjoy having sex with, while heterosexuals are free to pursue who they want?
I'm afraid you can't have a double standard, either we are all free to pursue the individuals we truly desire, or no one is allowed to regardless of the sexual preference. Also, homosexuality is not a sin you bigot.

Homosexuality is the attraction to ones of the same gender. Heterosexuality is attaction to ones of a different gender.
You have no choice in who you are attracted to. You do have a choice who you have sex with, in most cases.
There is nothing morally wrong with two grown adults choosing to have sex with each other or several hundred other consenting adults. The only time it becomes a moral issue is if protection is not used.

Why is it any more right to have sex with a member of an opposite sex, versus same sex?
Here's a better question: Why are so many people incapable of thought derived from themselves, not just what they read in a book?
Edit: Sex IS a choice, homosexuality/heterosexuality is NOT a choice. But why aren't you asking straight folks why they're having sex before they're married?

yes, the act of sex itself is a conscious choice, but have emotional feeling towards someone of the same gender is not. you do not consciously choose who you love, you only consciously choose whether to have sex with them or not so no homosexuality is not a choice, although the act of homosexual intercourse is

You must be joking. Having sex is a choice. To whom you are attracted is not, at least in a gender sense. If they made heterosexual sex a sin would you then never have sex again.

Holly, you are confusing sexual orientation with sexual behavior.
Sexual Orientation is an enduring emotional, romantic, sexual or affectional attraction to another person. It is easily distinguished from other components of sexuality including biological sex, gender identity (the psychological sense of being male or female) and the social gender role (adherence to cultural norms for feminine and masculine behavior).
Sexual orientation exists along a continuum that ranges from exclusive homosexuality to exclusive heterosexuality and includes various forms of bisexuality. Bisexual persons can experience sexual, emotional and affectional attraction to both their own sex and the opposite sex. People with a homosexual orientation are sometimes referred to as gay (both men and women) or as lesbian (women only).
Sexual orientation is different from sexual behavior because it refers to feelings and self-concept. People may or may not express their sexual orientation in their behaviors.

No, homosexuality and heterosexuality are NOT a choice. The only "choice" there is, is whether or not act on that orientation.

Incredible! Homosexuality isn't just about the actual act of sex, neither is heterosexuality. I'm sure you didn't need me to tell you that.
And I can almost guarantee that as far as 'sinful' sex is concerned, you're a hypocrite.

According to many of those who support heterosexuality it seems it is not a conscious choice to have sex with someone of the opposite gender. They seem to feel that being attracted to someone not only justifies intimacy with them but is inevitable.
Since when are people incapable of choosing whether or not to follow their emotions and desires?
By that logic all sin is condoned.
You seem to be saying that there is only one choice...what kind of choice is that?...so I think you are a heterosexist twerp!
Why don't you choose to be gay? it's not your choice I guess well that's fine and dandy isn't it? I respect your choice how about respecting mine. If you have a further point to make I suggest you make it!
It's really dumb to choose gay sex if you are straight and it's really dumb to choose straight sex if you are gay.
