I currently have a 14 month old daughter. She will be about 18 months old when my little boy comes. I'm concerned about how she will react and how much my household/daily routine will change.

Anyone with experience in having children this close in age? How was/is it for you?

Samben - my daughter was 11 months old when my son was born. She was had been walking about a month and talking. She was confused and VERY UPSET about the new baby. I had TWO infants on my hands. It was difficult, but I managed.

It will be difficult for you AT FIRST, but truly, women have done this forever. YOU WILL BE FINE.

Please read Siblings Without Rivalry and you should be all set.

every child is different, but my nephew was wonderful when his sister was born (he was 20 months). He loved being mommy's helper, getting diapers and putting the bink back in the baby's mouth when she spit it out. When she was older, thats when the trouble started! Of course, she's a spitfire and he's a pacifist, so they clash!!
