NO it only really helps those who broke all the laws that they had to to "make a better life for themselves".
Key word is THEMSELVES.

When you talk about immigration of legal nothing will change but about amnesty of illegals then it is a different story.
The bill that pass yesterday was to keep things going regarding the bill. I glad it is continuing taking it off the radar makes people get not thinking of it.
Keep it on keep more and more talking about it. That is good!
It will change some of the provision of legal immigration and that also need to be addressed.
It is one thing when we have only two or three categories of immigration types but not 30 and growing. Our immigration policy then become rather meaningless.

It doesn't directly screw them too hard. As far as formal residency and citizenship, the z-visa illegals are 'behind' those who have aplied legally, so far. They get to 'wait' here, while other wait at home, though, so I'm not sure how great a distinction that is.
Another indirect problem is that the Amnesty could tar legal immigrants with the same brush as the illegals - making all immigrants 'suspect' in the minds of some resentful Americans.

As far as I know this bill does not help the legal applicants for citizenship. It is a slap in the face! Also what about the millions still to come across the boarder, will they be granted amnesty as well? If anyone thinks we can protect the boarder, especially right away is delusional. I really think that the North American Union will be the next big proposal so boarders make no difference and the sovereignty of the US is a fond memory!

Amnesty is such a joke! We have so many other pressing problems that should be dealt with and all our politicians can think of is how to secure that illegals vote? I wish Ike was around, he'd tell these sissy rich boys who've never been to war that these illegals will take jobs our boys will need when they get home and they'll need help as so many are in poor shape both mentally and physically, and there will be none to give them as all of the illegals need to come out of the shadows and get fed and educated while our boys try to fight a war with toy guns because no one will approve what they need for a war that should have never been intervened in, in the first place. Just another of George's whims to make his daddy proud. As far as the immigrants who try to get here legally, they are still at the bottom of the totem pole. That's justice for you!

That is a very good point that our ever-so-wise senate has *ahem* neglected to address. This bill is designed (though the Senate states otherwise) to grant amnesty to the 12 million illegal immigrants who are here now over the next six years. As part of this bill, each immigrant will be permitted to bring up to four family members. All of them must go through an abbreviated naturalization process.
Now, where this becomes an issue is that the bill is designed primarily in favor of ILLEGAL immigrants and yields almost no change to the current process which HONEST people have been waiting in line for years to go through. If this bill is passed, the next task for the government is to implement it. Now, with the rush to make legal the 12 million *criminal* immigrants along with their 50+ MILLION family members that are projected to travel to the U.S. for citizenship in the six year window that the bill provides for, who do you think will get priority? The people who have been waiting in line and respecting our laws; or the criminals who this bill was designed to protect? I forsee ALOT of paperwork getting "lost".
Mark my words. This bill is the trigger which will bring fire upon and ultimately cause the downfall of U.S. Society as we know it.

Yes, it does address those people - the ones sitting in their home countries waiting for their visas.
It puts them BEHIND the ones who have been breaking our laws in order of priority.
Another reason to fight this AMNESTY bill.

The word skill countless subject concerns to different human beings. working occasion, the bill located forth by way of Rep. Luis Gutierrez is decried by way of the perfect as blanket amnesty. those on the left see it as punitive and humiliating by way of way of certainty it forces human beings to pay fines and learn English. So the placement you're politically has a impressive result on what those 3 little words recommend to you. The Nativo Lopez college of activism is annoying total legalization plus a "streamlined kit for all destiny waves of migration", that's definitely in basic terms erasing the borders. The fringes are so severe in this argument that they twist the words into pretzels to make their aspects.

You are right, the Dems are disregarding all of the 81% of the public who are demanding the amnesty provision be taken out. The bleeding heart liberals are merely seeking a new voting base that will be beholden to them.
Illegal is illegal is illegal; this kicks the legal immigrants in the face.

Your title kind of defines the whole problem with the bill. People in the Senate wanted to keep the whole thing a secret about what was in it and just pass it. Come to find out the public didn't like that idea and when we found out all the crap in the bill the Dems decided to burn the bill instead of taking the heat. Well then comes along ol dumb Bush and says hey listen you can tack on any crap you want on the bill just pass it. Well sure enough they jumped on that and now here we stand with an bogus bill and amendments coming out of our a$$. Thank you Dumb Dems, thank you lazy Bush and thank you spinless republicans, thank you from all of us to all of you.

there is not gonna be an amnesty! What they want is equality for everyone, because its is not fair for people who come to the united states legally and work their butts off.
