My neighbor and I both have a fence, which has been ok, even though his fence is about 6 inches higher than mine. That was a couple years ago. Now he's building a deck that goes right next to my fence, and the fences are about 3 feet higher than the floor of the deck, so he's going to have a full view of everything on the other side of the fence, into my kitchen window etc. Can anything be done?

Im sure there is some code violation here. Report it to the city planning commission and find out if he built with a permit. If not he will most defenite have to remove the contructed area. Also, if you care enough for your own privacy, look into awnings to cover your poarch area where your windows are exposed, might even look into having a taller fence built. Good luck but it looks to me you are going into a long battle.

Build a higher fence or plant a few trees. OR, have your ugly mother-in-law come over and sunbath naked in the back yard.

If you want to fight it, and upset the neighbor, then by all means, look into zoning and building codes for your neighborhood. Have a homeowners association? They'll handle it. Otherwise...tall shrubs.

yes. i would check w/ code enforecement, there ARE regulations of fence height. u can call anonymously too. but they will need to see the fence to have him adjust it. i woulndt want my neighbor having access to all i do in my back yard. creepy!

Invite gross people over and have them all walk around naked in your yard. They will then build a taller fence or just quit looking over there
