Well, all lean means is less fat. Hamburger is LEAN is you get 97/3, but, you have to replace that fat with something else. You have to have some fat just for flavor. Overcook lean hamburger and you have a hockey puck. Chicken is always lean. You need to remove the skin to make it as lean as can be. All you need to do is ask your meat cutter to help you out. You'll be surprised what you can learn. Lean doesn't mean tasteless. Lean means better for you. you can get the meat you want trimmed to that is has less fat, but, you have to ask. I've never been refused. A good meat cutter/butcher can lead you in the right direction. Most Grocery stores *large ones* could have a dietician on staff. They aren't there every day, but that can and do help with selections for you and your family.
