i can truthfully say that at no point did i have a clue what i wanted to be "when i grew up" and was made to feel like i was some weirdo by kids at school cause they would enthuse about their dreams and i could not join in.

i am now 32 and i am currently working for royal mail and while i do enjoy it i still cant say it would have been my dream job. so i guess for some of us the answer is you just never do reach an age when you really know what career you want

40 years old! Up until then I had a great deal of experience in trying lots of things, including 7 years in the Army and then being co-owner of a building design business.

At 40 I tried Kitchen and Bath Design and fell in love with it! I knew I had finally found "my career."

Everything about my life has brought me to where I am now - which applies to my career as well. I am very good at what I do, due to my previous careers/jobs - it's all accumulated to this "career!"

In my mind, the focus should be on experiencing lots of things rather than fit into the mold of needing to know what you want to do with your life by a set timeframe!

I'm 22 and I will be an RN in May of 2008. Ever since I was little I always knew that I wanted to be in the health care field. I love taking care of people and anything medical has always been an interest to me. So I figured nursing would be a great career for me, and after being in clinicals and actually taking care of patients...I know this is what I'm supposed to do.

About 13 or 14 I knew I wanted to do something art based/creative but wasn't sure what area.

I continued to keep an open mind in the field while at foundation art school. I am now a ceramicist, jeweller and glass maker. I still keep an open mind, and love learning new skills and techniques. This way I am never bored!

I would have to say I was 3 yrs of age when I said I wanted to help animals and I am now 25 with a 2yr old of my own and I am in school to become a Vet Tech. I did change my mind up until I was about 6 saying I wanted to tech kids then I got in to high school and told my mother that I rather take care of animal because they don't complain like kids do. I am happy with what I choose to do, but honestly I don't think ppl really know what they want to do with their lifes.
