what is it, are they badly educated? Or do they simply don't want to see the FACTS? And fact is: some people do recover from schizophrenia and live productive, healthy lives without medication and without having symptoms of schizophrenia! That is a FACT.

it's not my business to decide what people think about this issue, but facts are facts.

Well in my personal opinion, I am not really educated in this area much, and may be speaking out of ignorance, but a lot of people who might recover from schizophrenia at the time being might have a relapse later on, they might do well for 4 years, but suddenly the medicine might quit working. So I am guessing that's what people mean when they say "People don't recover from schizophrenia" because their is always a chance, if they don't take there medicine or their medicine proves non responsive, they might become schizophrenic again. But that's just my opinion, I might be way off.

There are different types of Schizophrenia. The course and prognosis can be different for each subtype and indeed different for each individual. People with Paranoid Schizophrenia can often function quite normally (although many need to take medications either continuously or periodically). Disorganized Schizophrenia, on the other hand, usually comes on early, is chronic and causes significant impairment. Full remissions are not that common but they do occur so the blanket statement that "people never recover" is not necessarily true. If you're taking Schizophreniform Disorder into account then all people, by definition, fully recover within six months.

It's funny how you are telling people it's a FACT but then don't have any evidence to support it being a FACT. Schizophrenia is an organic mental illness, meaning that the brain does not function properly, which is why medication is required to help diminish the side effects of the mental illness, and to help the person lead a more normal life. I have never heard of anyone recovering from schizophrenia, I would be very interested to know where you got your information.

It sounds like a schizophrenic talking. You don't "get over" schizophrenia. You may have periods of lucidity, but you don't just stop having it. If you were diagnosed with schizophrenia and then stop having symptoms, you may have been misdiagnosed. This is a biological disease of the brain.

I agree with the others. I would also like to see where you got your facts.
It doesn't sound as if "we" the general public need help accepting your anger as fact, but it does sound as if everyone could stand to be more educated on mental illness. It is so widely misunderstood

Schizophrenia is not a curable mental illness. However, as most other mental illnesses it is treatable with therapy, meds and hospitalization when/if needed.

it could be because schizophrenia is a symptom, not a disease. You recover from disease states, symptoms just go away or are controlled.
