It's Muster,,,,, no n..

Muster is when you Report for Duty. It is called a formation, and it is like a role call. It's how we account for our people each morning. Military Term. Morning Muster

Edit: mus·ter v. , -tered , -ter·ing , -ters . v.tr. To call (troops) together, as for inspection. To cause to come together; gather: Bring all the ... muster out ...

Not just used for the IRR (reserves) When concerning the IRR it is a formation (call to duty) used to update information, address, phone numbers, shot records, ect... usually lasting a short period of time and they get paid for it.

MUSTER Duty is a requirement by all military personnel that have served in the military buy did not serve the full 8 year obligation. Say a person served 4 years on active duty and got out. By law and their contract they still have 4 more years to seve in the inactive reserve, Muster duty is when these inactive reserve people are contacted and ordered to report to a nearby military base. This is a one day event which they get paid for. On this one day they are require to complete paperwork pertaing to their address and phone number as well as another contact person who can be contacted if they move and don't update their address info wih the military. They do this plus some medical paperwork. This day does not mean they are getting recalled, it means they are just updating their information. It is no big deal but it is a legal requirement they must complete or risk legal issues. The military did this all the time before 9-11 so it is not just a war thing.

I just got my muster orders, it's not a recall but they update all your info and then they'll se if your desireable. I just joined the reserves today for 2 years, no bonus but 24 month stability. So if your looking to not be deployed for sure then join the reserves for stability and ghost out, that is if you only have two years left like I do. If you dont go they can possibly take away your college money by giving you a dishonorable and then that throws away all the time you put in.
