Are you sure you mean .ptf, and not pdf?

.ptf files are either related to LiveNote Legal Transcript Files or ProTracker Tennis Match Files.

See the following url for an explanation.

If you're referring to .pdf files (Portable Document Format), these are files created by Adobe Acrobat, NOT Adobe Reader. That's just a .pdf reader program.

You can download Adobe Reader from the second url.

Obviously, as has already been intimated, .pdf files can also be made with other programs, and can be read by other programs than Adobe Reader.

There are two companies listed that use these type of files. Links below.
PTF - ProTracker Tennis Match File (Fieldtown Software)
PTF - LiveNote Legal Transcript File (LiveNote Technologies)

Use Adobe Acrobat 8. Download from the Adobe website.

If you want to create for free your own pdf's sometime, go to: http://www.primopdf.com. Please note: a message will come up that this is not one of Windows recognised websites. Just ignore this, the website is perfectly safe to download. We have this pdf creator on our pc's at home and at work with absolutely no problems - it's great!
