I don't mean while I'm lying down. I mean... about an hour before bed at night. Throughout the day I'm fine... but in the evening... it comes. Started quite suddenly about two weeks ago. I do plan on seeing a professional, but just curious to other opinions.

Hmmmm... I do sit in a very horrible position at work & while at home on the computer. BUT... I do workout like crazy after work and I'm in great shape. While I'm sitting in a bad position during the day, I have NO symptoms.

it is likely due to your body positioning in some way, do you sit in an overstuffed chair watching tv? Do you slouch down on the sofa? Most cases of heartburn like yours are a result of posture in one way or another. If you sit in a straight chair during your evening meal, remain in that chair for at least thirty minutes after you eat, so gravity aids you in emptying your stomach contents into the intestines.

My 16 year old son is the same way. He always feels like crap before bedtime. Maybe it is because dinner is your larger meal, then you are more sedentary before bedtime. During the day,you are in more of an upright position. His Doctor gave him a prescription for (I forget the name) but Prilosec is basically the same thing but lots cheaper. Read the package instructions. Zantac doesn't work as well for him. Good Luck!
