The most crucial problem with the Roman Catholic Church is its belief that faith alone in Christ is not sufficient for salvation. The Bible clearly and consistently states that receiving Jesus Christ as Savior, by grace through faith, grants salvation (John 1:12; 3:16,18,36; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10,13; Ephesians 2:8-9). The Roman Catholic Church rejects this. The official position of the Roman Catholic Church is that a person must believe in Jesus Christ AND be baptized AND receive the Eucharist along with the other sacraments AND obey the decrees of the Roman Catholic Church AND perform meritorious works AND not die with any mortal sins AND etc., etc., etc. Catholic divergence from the Bible on this most crucial of issues, salvation, means that yes, Catholicism is a false religion. If a person believes what the Catholic Church officially teaches, he/she will not be saved. Any claim that works or rituals must be added to faith in order for salvation to be achieved is a claim that Jesus’ death was not sufficient to fully purchase our salvation.

It was not the first church . Jesus started the first church his apostles started more . .. My wife was a catholic , before after we got married she came to the church I was attending. She asked , " Where's the holy water ? " I told her that there is no such thing . How can a sinner make water Holy ? What will that water do any way ?How can a priest forgive sins when he is a sinner also ? Only the Blood of Christ can do it ..nothing else . She has been going to the church and she has learned a lot . She said he eyes have been opened , by the true word of God ( The Bible) not a catholic bible .. Last year she accepted Christ as her savior and got a believers baptism .About 50 % of the church attenders were former catholics and they relate their stories on the false hood of that religion . I'm not putting your religion down but read a King James bible maybe your eyes will be opened .Read 1 Timothy 4:1-5...Hebrew 10:11

Wow. As a Catholic I'm amazed at the level of ignorance I'm seeing here. The "official" position of the Roman Catholic Church on salvation is that both faith and works are necessary to be saved, as per the book of James. Works flow naturally from faith. This does not mean that you can buy your way into Heaven. obviously God isn't duped that easily, people.
The sacraments are ways of obtaining God's grace. Grace is, of course, necessary for getting into Heaven. You do not have to believe everything the Pope says. There are different levels of obedience required.
I would suggest that people consult the official Catechism of the Catholic Church if they have questions about Catholicism, instead of various websites, since the CCC is actaully approved by Rome.

The Crusades, the Inquisition, and Hitler's Pope Pius XII. Northern Ireland, East Timor. Extermination of 30 million New World indios. Tens of thousands of reported cases of homosexual pedophilia.

The One True Church is an obscenity.

Nothing. I'm Catholic, myself. I'm full-blooded Italian, and my family (on both paternal and maternal sides) has been Catholic for centuries.

Nothing because God has establish all religions to suit every individual's consciousness. If one is comfortable at where she/he is, one must stay there, until she/he becomes outgrown with it and tries to move forward, because there is always one more step ahead of everybody living on this planet earth.
