I guess I should elaborate more. Adam and Eve weren't cavemen. So happened to all the prehistoric beings?

Those who believe in a younger age for the earth tend to agree that the Bible does mention dinosaurs though it never actually uses the word “dinosaur.” Instead, it uses the Hebrew word tanniyn (pronounced tan-neen; Strong’s #08577). Tanniyn is translated a few different ways in our English Bibles; sometimes it’s “sea monster,” sometimes it’s “serpent.” It is most commonly translated “dragon.” The tanniyn appear to have been some sort of giant reptile. These creatures are mentioned nearly thirty times in the Old Testament and are found both on land and in the water.

In addition to mentioning these giant reptiles in general nearly thirty times throughout the Old Testament, the Bible describes a couple of creatures in such a way that some scholars believe the writers may have been describing dinosaurs. Behemoth is said to be the mightiest of all God’s creatures, a giant whose tail is likened to a cedar tree (Job 40:15ff). Some scholars have tried to identify Behemoth as either an elephant or a hippopotamus. Others point out that elephants and hippopotamuses have very thin tails, nothing comparable to a cedar tree. Dinosaurs like the Brachiosaurus and the Diplodocus on the other had huge tails which one could easily compare to a cedar tree.

The word "dinosaur" does not appear in the Bible because the word was not created until 1842.

It should be noted that numerous organisms are not mentioned by name in the Bible, yet such an omission does not cast doubt on their creation or existence. The Bible does not mention cats, kangaroos, or bacteria. Yet, just like the things that are mentioned by name, it is obvious that these things were created by God. While the Bible speaks accurately on all topics with which it deals, it was not intended to be a taxonomy textbook.

The purpose of the book of Genesis, for example, was not to catalog every organism that ever lived, but to present a broad yet accurate summary of historical events which actually occurred during the creation week. Third, while the word “dinosaur(s)” is not mentioned in the Bible, there is compelling evidence that dinosaurs, and dinosaur-like creatures, are described, directly or indirectly, in God’s Word. Among the passages which may be considered are Job 40:15-24 and Job 41:1-34.

Have you ever seen a dinosaur? Have you ever seen Dino? Have you ever seen Fred Flintstone? Thats because they aren't real! People just like to think they are. Dig up some bones. Piece them together to look like Dino! Tell the public their dinosaur is 87 billion years old. They'll believe anything. After all, that was a long time ago. No one will know.

Read Job 40:15 through to Job 41:34 and you will meet "behemoth" and "leviathan," a dinosaur and a fire-breathing dragon, both real creatures that God created at the same time he created man... which He plainly states in the first verse (40:15).

They very well could be. It just doesn't call them dinosaurs. The Bible speaks of the creation of various creatures "according to their kinds". That could include dinosaurs. In any event, the Genesis account wasn't written to specifically address the creation of every type of animal. It was written to address the creation of man and his fall from perfection.

Lots of animals are not mentioned in the Bible, including Sea Horses and Platypuses. The Bible doesn't mention everything, that's why.

For the same reason that the price of wheat isn't mentioned in most articles about the fire in Reno: no relevance to the main purpose behind the writings.

Actually there are large beasts mentioned in Day 5 before the more common beasts appeared.

The term DINOSAUR is a rather modern term.

In ancient times they were called DRAGONS

Can they offer anything that would be a revelation of God for us? Can they add to the work God is doing to secure the salvation of His children. I don't believe that Rock of Gibraltar or Rain-deer are mentioned either why doesn't that bother you? Jim
