around? I mean Adam and Eve knew God. They spoke to God. They knew all about him. So where did Isthar come from? Isis? Diana? Athena? Where did the goddess come from at all? Did that mean that Adam and Eve were slacking in the whole teaching thier kids about God thing?

Yeah and Noah. If all the humans got wiped out, then wouldn't the whole God thing get cleared up again?

Because the story of Adam and Eve showed up rather late in the game. The bible wasn't there from the beginning of time. It was written by men, don't forget.

this is a REAL answer. not like some of the above. hope it helps. :) think about this... adam and eve must have had an amazingly diverse gene pool. if this weren't so, then the world couldn't have even been populated. there would have been so many mutations and genetic disorders, most everyone would've died. this is seen when incest orrurs or some other form or interrelated sex. childeren are created with many malformations, ranging anywhere from autism, to missing limbs, to death. this happens because the genes are soo closely related between the two family members and they don't mix well to produce a child. therefore, adam and eve must have had amazingly diverse genes, to even begin the world population process. now, with those diverse genes, don't you think all the characteristics of all the different ethnicities were contained in there somewhere? and some of them might've been recessive, and didn't show up untill 3 generations later. but with lots of new people being produced to populate the world, soon enough they would be soo different. maybe one group went to asia and one went to africa. well, it just happens that a little over half of the people traveling to africa were of darker skin. after a while, most of the future generations will have a darker pigment. and let's say the other group had a lot of people with little squinty eyes. well, the same thing would've happened to them. hope this helps!

I believe your real question is why does God not straighten everyone out about who He is instead of allowing so many competing truths to exist.
The answer is that earth life was designed to help us grow and to develop a true understanding of the difference between right and wrong. For this education to happen, there needed to be competing truths and people needed to be free to make both good and bad choices.
For example, I tell my children not to lie and why that's important for happiness. Hopefully they'll understand and obey, but they will probably gain some insight as they experience what happens when a relationship is damaged because of dishonesty.
Earth life was designed for just this sort of education.
This isn't just speculation. Once again living prophets are on the earth helping us to better understand the scriptures and many truths never before revealed. I've come to know they have been called of God and everyone else can come to know this as well.
Of course there are still competing truths, so you must continue your search for truth and use both your mind and heart together to avoid deception.

That would be a logical question if you believe that the story of Adam and Eve was true. On the other hand that very question would imply that the story of Adam and Eve was not true. In all reality there were many religions many years before Christianity existed. If you really do your research. You will realize that a lot of the stories you read in the bible came from those other religions. It's good to ask those questions. To be a open minded and free thinking human being you most think for yourself and to question authority.

All the other gods you mention came around much later in Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Babylonian myth. Most (if not all) the stories of myth from Greek and Roman myth originate with the activities of who the Bible calls the Nephilim.
Hercules is perhaps the best case for this. Hercules is the result of a god coupling with a human woman. Put all the Hollywood nonsense aside and read some of the original stories of his escapades. He did some really horrible things. Match his physical description with those of the Nephilim in the Bible (which were the hybrid offspring of demons (lesser gods) and human women), and you get an undeniable correlation.

We know that the flood destroyed all living beings except Noah, his wife, Shem, Ham and Japheth (his sons) and their daughters. They were to multiply and fill the earth. At some point, rebellion slips in and we would rather bow to a god we can control, than one to whom we must relinquish control. So we make them up and everyone else who doesn't want to bow before God will gladly join in. They even made quite a profit from selling idols. Even Adam and Eve chose fruit over obeying God. Today, while claiming to follow Christ, many still worship relationships, money, status, etc....

it's my experience and educated guess that communion with god (or the divine) isn't like a face to face with other humans. i think that god can manifest himself in various ways. science can prove that genetically we came from a mother and father of creation if their name was actually adam & eve i can't tell you for sure.
as far as answering your question the abramic religions are false by the evidence of the followers. my religious roots are within christianity, my problem is not with the bible it is with the church...

Don't forget about Noah as well, and his son's. Since god spoke to Noah and to go forth and multiple (after the Ark story) and his son's should have also known about God and God laws to follow through their father.
But, the bible is a fairytale and none of the stories are true, and thats the truth.
