God isn't real, sweetie.

Edit - To the answerer above me, please reread the question. She didn't say that God caused these things, she asked why they happen.

As bananaboatx3 said its the devil.

But wait. The devil is neither all knowing or all powerful. But God is claimed to be both.

So there is no plan of the devil that God can not know. There
is no action of the devil that God can not thwart. Angels and the devil do not have free will, so God does not have to let them do whatever they want.

So any action that the devil succeeds in carrying out MUST have the tacit approval of God.

The devil is just God's fall guy to take the blame when God wants something bad to happen.

There is a vague possibility God might be real, but if he is he has the morals of a spiteful 5 year old.

Because the world, as we see it now, is not under the control of God. It is under the control of the devil until God redeems it in Revelation. The scroll with the seven seals you see early in Revelation is the "title deed" to the earth. The earth was created by God, but sin put it in the hands of Satan to do his bidding for an allotment of time. The time is coming to a close.

Would it make you feel better if children were dying and there was no God and that these children go in to some annihilistic nothingness? Or is it better to know the truth that the children have passed from this physical world of suffering and pain into the arms of the eternal God? Remember, the atheist has no concept or proof of life after death. Just endless ramblings of man's philosophy. There is no hope there. God has revealed Himself in His Word, and there is an eternal life after death.

Yawn.

Maybe I should write a full explanation and cut and paste it here. I see this stupid q so many times. Basically, God is SPIRIT, and He only USES tragedies to grow us. It's really all just a matter of viewpoint. You have no idea WHAT is good or bad.

God has nothing to do with that. That comes from the sins of man.

God declared women will be in pain during child birth

Man will work and toil from sun up to sun down.

That is the way of MAN

Not the way of God, but MAN chose to ignore the way of God.

So man loses.

It's that simple.

Free will prevails.

To quote the great Professor Frink. "God is an impotent nothing from nowhere with less power than the under-secretary of transportation, which has very little power in our system"

I think bad things happen because people do horrible things, then they have to experience the result of their causes. People kill, people rape and exploit other people. They torture and are cruel. Eventually they have to reap what they have sown, if not in this life, then maybe in the next as a child dying.

The answer lies within your personal definition of what is God. Just look at the array of answers you received, mine included.

No one seems to bring more grief to human kind but ourselves. God created us and gave us free will. What you're looking at are the results of how we express the free will. We even have free will to blame God itself for what we do without Its punishment.

With Love.

Its a thing called mortality.

Also, humans, animals and spirits have free will. Free will is not controlled or else everyone would be perfect every day all day.
