Most certainly NOT. First of all, he was never a HEAVY metal musician. In the times when he actually played metal, he played THRASH metal.
Secondly, nowadays he's a sellout wh*re of the music industry, succumbing to the fleeting trends, trying to be NU-metal when the winds blow that way, doing everything for money...
He's NOT a metal god, he's the prime example of what a true metalhead is not and should never ever be. If you pick such a person to be your god, then you glorify spineless adapting to current trends, greed, selling out your soul and your music for money, betraying your true fans and kissing the feet of music industry moguls.
If that's the qualities you like with your idols - go ahead.

But how do you KNOW that James Hetfield specifically is the god of metal? Why not Kirk? It could be a flying ravioli monster if you follow THAT logic! Answer without quotes from Metal Hammer or any of your baised publications, please!!! That is like giving the definition of a word as the word itself!!!

Why not? As a heathen, I raise horns of mead to Robert Earl Keen, James McMurtry, and Willie Nelson as the gods of Texas Music all the TIME!!!
We're too burly to bow, us heathens. But you just go on and knock yourself right out! ;-)
Added for Monica: Not Texas *musicians,* hon, Texas *Music* . . . it's a specific genre of altcountry. Roots rock with a lil' hillbilly on top. Now, Texas BLUES . . . Stevie Ray gets to be the Almighty One Hisself. *G*

While I agree with you about the quality or Hetfields music I'm not sure your question has any real value on this, or any other, site.
It is designed simply towind up those who believe in gods and as such you are one of those who gives Atheists a bad name.
Bow down to whoever you want, but don't call them gods as we Atheists don't believe in gods

Is he worthy of kissing Jimmy Page's feet? No.
Boar's Heart, how can you attempt a pantheon of Texas musicians without mentioning Stevie Ray Vaughan?

I don't bow to anyone but for Hetfield.. the thought probably would at least cross my mind.
The thought would cross my mind for Trent Reznor too....

You may bow to whatever god you want to while you are on this earth.. Afterwards you will do this in front of Jesus.
Phi 2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Phi 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

How do you know he doesn't?
I'd be willing to bet that you talk with famous people on here, or other boards, and never even know it.
