Isn't this R&S, shouldn't you be in the philosophy area or something? Just wondering. Thank you.

(giggle) you just like to make us drink.. do I hear Pavlov's dogs in the background? ;)

No, it's a myth.
I'm not an atheist, but if they left, I'd be bored to tears.

Three things.

1. The idea that Darwin recanted on his deathbed is a myth.

2. The R&S section is not just for religious people, it is for religious discussions. Atheists have as much a right to be here as anybody. Atheism being the lack of religion makes it a religious discussion anyway.

3. No, I am not an atheist. I am a Christian. So I am not just being biased.

No that's an urban legend..

Why shouldn't I be here?

Does my presents in some way threaten the beliefs of others? If so I obviously wield far more power than I ever knew I had.. I should buy Lotto tickets and use my power for gain..

If one little (5'2") Atheist sitting at her computer desk in Northern California frightens and threatens the core beliefs of so many religious people with her presents in the R&S section of Yahoo!Answer maybe they were questioning their beliefs before she showed up.. (LOL talking of myself in third person)

No, it's not true that Darwin recanted on his deathbed. That was made up by a Christian evangelist called "Lady Hope", who claimed to have been there. Darwin's family said that he never even knew the woman, and that she was most *certainly* not present at his deathbed. His family was present.

*Drink*

No, it's not true!
We're here because this is part of YA! is ABOUT R & S!, which affects all of us. Especially these days!
It's not a requirement to support R&S, believe in R&S, give tax free gifts to R&S, or drink Kool Aid because an R&S twit said it was a good idea!
But everyone gets to form an opinion on R&S!

It's way to early to be drinking! Are you trying to turn me into an alcoholic or something?

I don't believe in a god that in no way means that I am not spiritual. We have just as much right to be here as you. It's a great way to educate ourselves - we like to know before we pass judgment. (at least I do)

No, it's an urban myth.
Darwin's daughter, who was present, stated on many occasions that this never happened.

So, please stop spreading a lie.

Ever read a book you thought was poorly written and told a friend how bad it was and recommended not reading it?

Same thing, different book.

Small fact that everyone should know: Darwin went on his expedition with a friend of his. His friend died on the expedition and Darwin went through his friends notes and stole them for himself. Its not Darwin that came up with the theory but his friend
