check your scale that you are measuring her with. this can often be the problem. also, if she stands on the scale a certain way, she will be able to add or subtract some of her weight. Make sure that you use the same scale everytime, and that it always points to absolute zero when not in use. if this doesnt seem to be the problem, try having the vet check her over.

The key to answering this question is health. Is she healthy? Active? Is she pooping and peeing and eating and drinking well? Maine Coons are big, 20-lb cats, notable for their amiable personalities, their ability to get rid of mice, and for being funny; they are clowns, usually sweet-tempered, and can be very good with children. She sounds perfectly fine to me.
The weight variation thing is weird, and I'm wondering what kind of scale you are weighing her on, as some scales, like the typical bathroom scale that you step on and look down at, can be affected by humidity and temperature to some extent. Cats, like people, can have weight swings dependent entirely on fluids, size of meals in process within them and such like. But 1 1/2 lbs is a pretty wide swing. I would tend to blame the scale rather than the cat.
If you are really worried, take her to the vet. But if she is healthy and vigorous, she is probably all right. She certainly sounds fine.
If she gets lots of exercise, and if when you pick her up and run your hands over her rib cage, you can still feel ribs (not emaciated ribs, just RIBS, as opposed to FAT with barely-felt ribs underneath) she is not obese. A cat is not fully grown until it is 2 years old. She is still growing. If she is exercising lots and growing, and she is not obese by the rib-test, there would seem to me to be no reason to watch her diet.
Ever seen a teenage boy eat? Ever heard parents of teenage boys complain about how much food they have to buy? I think that's where you are at with your kitten.
I think you are going to have a great big furball of a Maine coonish kitty, more of an Anna Nicole than a Nicole Ritchey, if you get my drift. She sounds wonderful. Just enjoy her. She's fine.

Is she small boned? Can you feel her ribs or her hip bones? Are there any signs of worms in her stool? And, most important, have you had her to the vet? A vet will be able to determine if there's anything wrong. At 9 months, she still has about 15 months to grow as most cats do not reach their full size until around 2 years. Our Heinz-57 cat who closely resembled a Maine Coon was about 15 to 16 pounds at his full size.

Maine Coon's get big... my cat, Jack, is part Maine Coon and has a cute little head and huge body (he actually looks somewhat like a racoon!). He's just over one year old and weighs 17lbs! He's the best cat I've ever had (very affectionate, loving, and fun). So, I wouldn't worry about your kitten...

The first thing I would do is go to the vet and talk to him about her weight and eating habits.
You can also buy an automatic feeder that will give her portions of food whenever you program it to. It will get her on a feeding schedule and you won't have to worry about how many times you fed her that day.

If she's eating, she's healthy. Give her as much food as she likes, don't follow the instructions on the packages. She is still young, so it is normal she is not very heavy. By the way, is she spayed? After getting spayed she may gain some weight.
It also depends on how big she is in general. Would you say she is skinny? If so, you may give her more foods she likes or kitten food, which gives weight.
OH, and of course de-worm her. Tape worm may be eating her food inside her. Give her Drontal.

This sound very unusal. I would go to your local pet store and buy some food that is "fating" for cats. This should help!
