I understand exactly where you're coming from. I, too, am having a very hard time believing in His existence. It's taken me a long time to even get to the point where I'd admit vocally to anyone that I doubted his existence. I won't go into the specifics as to of why I've come to thinking the way I do b/c I don't want to be the person responsible for turning you away from a faith that you seem to really want to remain a part of. What I will share with you is that I'm still struggling to discover what my path is and one day I hope I'll find it. Don't feel like you're a bad person for thinking the way you do. Take things one day at time. One day you'll find the strength you want and the path you need to follow.

I am right where you are. I have been for quite awhile. It is really very frustrating. For me, it has come down to 1 major thing:
Something had to come from nothing at one point. Whether it was God or matter, something came from somewhere at sometime.
So I choose God. It is not always easy, and I struggle more than anyone I know personally with simple belief in God. I am with you: I hate hate hate the fake part, so I have resolved to NOT be part of it. I don't participate in the emotionalism of religion, nor do I give Sunday school answers (like here, it would be "you just have to have faith"). I can see both sides to issues. I don't ever just choose without thinking through tings. In the end, it is all arguments and logic. It could logically be God, it could logically not be. Therefore, I just choose to believe, although I am making it sound a lot easier than it is. I really do struggle with it.
Read 2 Timothy. It says a lot about man's knowledge and logic in it. That is the biblical passage that helped me the most.

I use to have those doubts. My mom, though, is always going on about these things in some way, and I read the bible more, and researched creation science. Lotsa evidence in there. Or you could always call the 700 club or the tvulive.com help thing or something....
Look at whats happening in the world. Isn't it exactly what the Bible prophecised?
The Bible even foretold that Israel would become a country. In the 40s, they did it! They had this teeny tiny little army against all of these other huge armies and WON. The accounts of the soldiers even has examples of how they would shoot one enemy, and seven more would mysteriously die too all around. Just reasearch some of this stuff.

I struggle with this too. I was raised Catholic, and was Born Again as a teenager. That was all a very long time ago though. I do attend church, because I believe that Jesus Christ did exist on earth and some of the teaching that goes with that. But I also beleive that there are other powers that be. I might be a sinner according to "thou shalt have no other Gods before me" but doesnt that same verse also imply there is something else there? Explore some different religions. You will find whats right for you

The only person who can make your faith stronger is you.
However, there is never anything wrong with asking questions. If it all seems fake to you, examine your reasons for thinking so. If, at the end of your search, you find yourself still doubting, it will be ok :)

Just because you're having doubts about Christianity and God doesn't mean you aren't believing. The opposite of believing is not doubt, but not believing. God accepts questions and doubts He wants to hear all of your complaints and doubts, questions and concerns...that is what He is there for. Ed Young did a series about doubts and not believing in God. I would consider buying his book "Outrageous Contagious Joy" because it has helped me grow in my relationship with God.

Don't feel back because you have doubts about the existence of god. Maybe christianity is not the right religion for you. Try buddhism: they believe in a higher power, but not a god who controls the world. Or taoism, which teaches you the way to complete enlightenment. Also, those religions are much more accepting of other religions, so you won't feel like you have to convert your parents or anything.

I have to admit to having had doubts in the past, but I have a reminder of a miracle ( a paystub) in my wallet. It's a paystub. I got a new job in another city, a few years ago. I was to get my first paycheck in 3 weeks. I was broke. My last check was used to pay first month's rent and security deposit, and my security deposit from my last apartment was not given back as i had to break my lease. I had even exhausted all my vacation time so my last job didn't owe me a penny. One day on my way home from my new job, i said, "God, you know that I am broke. I only have $50 to last for 3 weeks. I'm thaning you in advance for meeting my needs." I get home, and guess what was waiting for me? A full pay check from my last job. I called my ex-boss and she insisted that they didn't owe me any money. The check was for a full month's pay; much more than I needed. I cashed it immediately, and never heard anything from my job asking for a refund.
Sometimes life throws me curveballs, but then i look at the paystub in my wallet. There is no other way to explain it other than to say it was a miracle.
Please keep in mind that faith =FORWARD ACTION INSPIRED THROUGH HIM.
the lack of faith tells God that you don't believe He is cable of helping you. As a result, He won't.

Oh, you are SO normal. Everyone struggles with faith. But it sounds like you are truly seeking Him. Good. Just commit yourself to believing in Him regardless what the world tells you. Attend services regularly, study and pray. Rely on other Christians for support. God will not forsake those who seek Him. He sent His Son to Calvary to guarantee it.

I went through a similar time. Learn about other religions, study everything you can. If nothing clicks or feels right to you, that's ok. Not everyone believes in a god, and there is nothing wrong with that. When it comes right down to it, no one will ever know if god exists or not. So what is important if finding a set of philosophies you can call your own.
