I read on this nutritional site that as long as you do cardio most days of the week for 30 min. each day and do strength training like push ups etc. you are guranteed to lose weight and you can eat whatever you want because when doin the strength training you build muscle and that burns more calories than fat even when sitting still. Then with the cardio that will help get rid of the fat and you will keep it off cause of the strength training.

I know you can't indulge yourself. You got to keep it reasonable.

At least 30 min of cardio and a good weight training regiment will in many cases help you maintain or loose weight. The big key to any diet is nutritional intake. You can not just eat whatever you want. If you want to lose weight try a high protein low carb (do not cut out carbs all together) diet and really watch your fat intake. I highly recommend body for life. It is very reasonable diet and exercise program that you do not have to pay for. I lost 85 lbs ( I am 6' 5" was 270 now 185) in a very short amount of time on it and have kept the weight off for over 3 years now. The main thing to remember you are need to change your mindset and allow this to become a lifestyle not a fad.

You'll probably lose some weight. It'd be much more effective to start a diet as well. Try to take in plenty of protein and good carbs (not sugars). I don't totally agree with that theory because you could eat a lot of sugar, which would take a lot of cardio to wear off. Try doing interval training when doing your cardio, very good workout to burn fat. It's where you sprint for 30 seconds, run for a minute, sprint for 30 seconds, etc...

Well, you can't eat as much of anything you want without limits. You can eat more than a person who is not exercising, but we all need to keep it within limits. The simple math is to lose weight you must take in LESS calories than you burn in a day. You burn some just by being alive, even if you were lying in a bed. You burn MORE if you are active and exercising.

There are a lot of misconceptions regarding dieting and exercising. You need to stick with something that you will want to keep doing and eat... just in moderation. Increasing your day to day activities will help you lose weight. Incorporate all of them - watching your intake of food (quantity, quality, etc), increase cardio activities as well as strength training and you are well on your way to a happier and healthier lifestyle.

If you exercise and still eat a lot you may not necessarily lose weight. Say if you eat 5000 calories a day and only burn off 2500 calories daily, you haven't burned more calories than you have taken in. To lose weight, you have to exercise and watch your eating habits.
