You need to receive the Sacrament of Baptism in a Catholic Church if you want to be a Catholic.
Being a Catholic is more than just being a member of a Church, it is a way of life. Before the term "catholic" was used to describe the Church, early Christians called it "The Way".
What we do as Catholics have to reflect what we believe as Catholics. So yes, receive Baptism.
Talk to the parish priest. You may need to enter the Church's RCIA program; the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. This includes reception of Baptism, first Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
Good luck.

Since you have the opportunity to become Catholic now, you are not a Catholic at this point.
People can and have been considered baptized by martyrdom before they have actually been baptized by the Church.
Also, if you should die while in the process of obtaining baptism through the Rite of Christian Initiation you are considered baptized.
These are two of the cases of baptism without actual baptism taking place that I know about.
Please continue in your faith toward baptism. It is very rewarding.
Yours in Christ Jesus, Grace (a Catholic convert)

*Is Catholic*
Since you are not Baptised, you are neither Catholic nor Christian.
What you are is a hearer of the Word. I cannot find the technical term. When you decide to start to undergo the process to be Baptised and to become Catholic you will become a catechumen.

Since you believe the beliefs of the Catholic faith, why don't you start the process to join the faith and become a full member? Right now you are one who has all the desire and belief to be in side the house, but yet remain outside looking in.
God bless you!

You need to be baptized. This sacrament is necessary for entering the Church. If you're an adult, you should then speak with a priest about RCIA. A solid education in the Faith is the best thing you can do for yourself.
God bless.

At first I would like to say I used to be Catholic, but then Jesus found me and called me and now I have him in my life and I live in the truth in Christianity. My religion teacher in school would often talk about abortion. She said that hopefully God would be merciful enough to let the baby into heaven, even though they were not baptized. What is she thinking? God is the very loving, and would never do that to an innocent baby. The unborn baby doesn't even know what is going on. Now Catholics say that if you are not baptized you are not going to go to heaven...so yea if you want to remain a Catholic then you have to get baptized

Well, Christianity and Catholicism both believe in baptism. So, you can be a baptised or unbaptised christian. I think, however, that to participate in a Catholic mass you need to be baptized. You can still call yourself a catholic though, if you believe in the Catholic teachings.

Catholics baptize their children at birth to 'dedicate them to the Lord'. Christians are 'born again' and choose to be baptized to symbolize thier new life in Christ. Make your own decision and stick with it. who cares what anyone else thinks. Its between you and God. Both Catholics and CHristians follow the teachings of the Bible. What does it say in regard to baptism? Study up and make your decision.

I would ask the priest of the church you occasionally go to, he would be able to correctly answer your question.
