An original Martini is GIN, Vermouth, and an olive. But over the years vodka has become the main choice, so now when someone asks for a Martini it simply means the type of glass you use... (a martini glass) Anyways just ask them how they want it... It's usually vodka, olive juice and an olive. If it tastes like salt water then you made it right.

Basic Dry Gin Maritini:
3 1/2 oz. Gin
1/2 oz. Dry Vermouth
Splash of Dirty Tony's (Olive Juice)
Garnish with 2 Olives.
A Martini is nearly all alcohol. Some flavored Martini's have less alcohol. Yes a 14 year old can drink it, but it depends on where you live. In the US that would be illegal. In Ireland/Germany/Netherlands...if your parents don't mind you stumbling around for a few hours, go right ahead.

No! You have to be over 21.
Is it alcohol? Yes in fact it is almost pure alcohol. The only thing that is not alcohol is the olive. lol
Gin, a splash of dry vermouth. Shake* in a cocktail shaker with ice and serve in a martini glass with an olive.( Can be served on the rocks but that is hokey. lol)
*shake exactly 30 times. Less and it won't be cold enough and more and it will be bruised. (aka the ice will melt and dilute the drink).

A real martini is 99% percent gin or Vodka with a splash of vermouth, shaken in a cocktail shaker with ice and strained into a glass served with a lemon wedge.
A 14 yr old sadly can not partake, wait 7 yrs. In the mean time have a shirly temple or try a dremsickle (half OJ and half cranberry juice).

have you ever smelled rubbing alcohol? Do not taste it as it is dangerous but imagine that smell as a taste and there you have it! A martini. You don't need to try one until you have at least past the shirley temple stage love!
