Floatie arm bands are fine to help her float when she is with you, but you may not want to constantly hold her when you are in the water. In that case, you can get a blow up floatie chair that are made for toddlers. That way, she can sit in it and float while you are standing or swimming next to her. My kids are two and 4 and swim on their own fine with the arm floaties and we only go in the pool a couple times a year.

those should be fine as long as you stay in the shallow end. i first took my daughter when she was 2 and she just wore a swimsuit. she was not brave enough to go much deeper than a foot deep. we get the water in her bath deeper than what she was comfortable with in the pool.
i would think the arm bands would be more of a nuisance than anything else. all they're going to do is keep her upper arms afloat. i remember them being awkward when i was a kid.

If she can't touch, get one of those little boats and stay with her. Life vests are a great investment, but they will not hold her straigh up in the water. She will need to have some sort of swimming control to keep herself upright.
Stay with her the whole time she is in the water.

Arm bands are bad, they will not help your child learn to swim or keep them safe. Buy a life vest. And consider when the right time would be to give your child swimming lessons.

I took my 16 month old to the pool w/ just arm bands last summer. I held him the entire time, but by the end of the week he was able to stay afloat and move around w/out holding on to me. Of course, I was oly a few inches away, but he loved it. Good luck!

I think that is sufficient if you will be in the pool with him. If not, then its probably safer to bring other flotaion devices as well? But remember that no matter how many devices he's wearing, that can never prevent accidents 100%...So make sure you ALWAYS keep an eye on your baby. :)

Inflatable arm bands are a toy and not intended as safety flotation devices. You can purchase life vests that are intended for the purpose of flotation, and they are less cumbersome for the child.

yes and no you might want to try The inflatable ring that has the seat built in it but watch that the child don't try to lean to far forward or it will tip but if the child is going to be in constant contact the arm bands should be sufficient

No...don't ever rely on floaties!!! Try the suits that have the floatations built in. It's kind of like a suit with a life vest built in. You can get them at most variety stores. I've seen them at Target & Wal-Mart.
