You know, I have often wondered that...

Generally, a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses is built without windows only in areas which tend toward hate crimes and vandalism against houses of worship. Sadly, it seems that the questioner must be from an area with a reputation for bigotry and lawlessness.

Jehovah's Witnesses are proven to be true Christians based upon the Witnesses' preaching work and the anti-Witnesses' bigoted hatred against them.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Few Kingdom Halls of Jehovah's Witnesses have windows. However, the real reason is so the listeners can give their full attention to the speaker.

Another main reason is, because it reduces power and air conditioner bills.

The meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses are free and open to the public. No collections are ever taken.

If you would like further information, please get in touch with Jehovah's Witnesses at the local Kingdom Hall. Or visit their official web site - http://www.watchtower.org

Most of the kingdom halls are quick-built projects. It is easier for them to complete these in a timely manner when the number of windows and other openings are limited. Plus, kingdom halls have been vandalized - windows broken and fires started. It helps to reduce the opportunities for vandals. Also, some kingdom halls are used as JW hubs and safe havens when there are natural disasters. It makes the buildings more sturdy - able to withstand most storm damage.

I didn't know that was so. The only JW church I went to had no windows and I thought it was odd, but I didn't know others were like that too.

I like learydisciple's response, it makes sense. I use to work with some JW's and attended a wedding in a JW church... their whole congregation (including my coworkers) were very strange and socially awkward individuals who preferred to only socialize with other JW's. I think the "no windows in church" is part of the whole "us vs everyone else" attitude they indoctrinate their children with. They symbolically close out the rest of the world.

I will give the same answer I gave before.

Because we prefer Linux.

And we don't have churches.

Why do your churches have stained glass windows?

They think they are in Noah's Ark?
None of their members sell windows?
Keeps utility costs down?
Keeps out the light of the true gospel?

Just a few for consideration.

They say it's for insurance purposes, but actually they don't want people to look out and be distracted while the publishing company is delivering the 'message'.
