This happened to my son not too long ago and our pediatricians office told us that they should not go to sleep for about an hour after the incident (so your son should be fine to sleep). But check on him every 30-60 minutes depending on how long he usually sleeps for.

1/2 an hour to an hour.If he has No fever, throwing up, or being lethargic, he's fine, go ahead and put the baby down for nap.

If he seems normal and having no problems then let him nap. You might want to check on him a couple times.

i had to take my son to a and e recently for the same thing, the nurse said its a myth they can go sleep whenever, she also said they need to be seen by a nurse if they fall a distance more than their own height and if there is and vomiting, more than once, to seek medical attention. also just check on him every four hours whilst he is asleep just give him a nudge and see if he responds ie twitches. just general stuff like that, also it is safe to give him infant paracetamol as they get a headache and it helps them sleep!

My mom always told me to wait 1 1/2 - 2 hrs....but you can call the nurse at your drs office and they may give you something different!

I would wait at least two hours because you want to make sure he doesn't throw up, if he does it's possible he has a concussion.
