So what I'm saying is, my DVD player only accepts DVDs from Region 1. However, I want to watch DVDs from another region, 3. Are there any converters or whatsoever out there that could do it? Or do I need to buy a new/region free DVD player?

You didn't state the type of player you have, but many Region 1 players have a known "hack" to get them to play discs from any region.

My Toshiba has a sequence of remote keys that you press to turn off the region checking - I found it on the internet and it works!!

Try the sites listed below and see if you can find yours. Not all DVD players can have the region code changed.
