The problem is that it was an image booster not too many years ago to smoke and young people started doing it because they thought if they did not smoke their peers would regard them as "wierdos". So lots of people got addicted to nicotene. This acts as a tranquilizer but also stimulates release of adrenaline into your bloodstream. Tar in tobacco also causes chronic irritation of your respiratory system !
Getting lung cancer is the most common problem caused to your health (confirmed by more than 30 studies in 10 countries) but also mouth cancer and cancer of the throat.
can be caused by the habit. But there is a lot worse! Smoking is also directly associated with getting chronic bronchitis, emphysema and combinations of both which causes you to get increasing breathlessness and sometimes the coughing up of sputum, which figures show causes about 80 deaths per 100,000 in guy in the U.K. as proved by NHS statistics.
Another significant harmful effect of smoking is coronary artery disease which is provably the most common causde of death in middle aged males in western nations! Moreover as well as its effect on your coronary arteries smoking damages your arteries that supply other parts of your body! It may severely affect your leg arteries leading you to gert peripheral vascular disease which can lead to having to have your leg amputated! The arteries of the brain can also be affected and this can lead to a stroke!
In short anybody who smokes is a mug but anybody who succeeds in giving it up needs to be praised because it is hard.

Smoking is an addiction and addictions are not easily fixed. Even when they have motivation there addiction continues to take over there body & there mind. This is like any other addiction and should be addressed as such...
However smoking doest not kill smokers as much as it kills non-smokers. Second hand smoke is not filtered so therefore really we as non-smokers get the shitty end of the deal because get the (over 1000 )chemicals that are being released from the cigeratte.
And believe me... I certaintly do not have a death wish.

Well. You are going to die from something anyway. One of my friends died at the age of 23 from cancer, god bless her. She never smoked a day in her life and didn't even drink often. Non smokers seem to think that they will last for ever and smokers will die young but this isn't the case. Yes, smokers do shorten their lives but they can die from lung cancer, heart attacks or things which aren't even related to smoking. Smoking increases the probability of lung cancer but it doesn't mean you will get it. And equally a non smoker can die from cancer. The point is that no one will last forever and what ever way you die is not going to be fun. So how do you want to die? Or don't you think that you ever will?

Both my parents smoked and quit. Smokers don't want cancer, but smoking is an addiction, just like you HAVE to have that cup of coffee in the morning. There are a lot of things in cigarettes that are addictive and things that are addictive aren't easy to quit. It's almost like you have to substitute something else to be addictive- my dad quit smoking so now he chews Wrigley's gum all the time.

You have to have been a smoker to know how hard it is to give up .Non smokers have no idea what its like
It takes most smokers a few times trying to give up before they succeed in giving up
We all have our vices whether it be food , drink , gambling etc and we know how hard it is to give these up but with smokers the craving can be unbearable

No, they just got hooked. If you smoked you would understand that it is NOT EASY TO GIVE UP even though many want to kick the habit and have tried numerous times. The body's physically addicted.

They are the type of people that do not ever think it would happen to them. They feel fine, and look fine, and think they always will be. It will usually take a big scare to get them down to reality.
I used to be a smoker!

Of course we want Cancer that's why we do it. Every time we light a cigarette we hope that this is the cigarette that's take us to our deaths!!! What kind of a question is that?
What do you have sex for? Do you want an STD?
What do you drink for? Do you want liver disease?
What do you have stress for? Do you want a brain hemorrhage?
why do you take Pain killers? Do you want your insides to explode?
What do you go jogging for? Do you want to have knee replacements by the time you're 40?
Life is a risk take it or leave it!

No, we don't want cancer, although I personally would prefer that to chronic lung disease which slowly strangles you.
We're addicts, plain and simple. Some of us are strong enough to break the habit, others aren't. You can be as judgmental as you want, but unless you are without any bad habits, don't cast the first stone.
If you are perfect, my hat's off to you.
