why does the media only ask the military leadership about what the soldiers think about being in iraq? i know from experience, iraq 2004-2005, that if they would ask the soldiers if the occupation is worth the loss of lives they would get a different answer. if they had asked the guys in my unit i can hoestly say that the majority would have said, being over there is a joke! and that there is no justification for being there. we went tere because we lost 2000 plus lives in the 911 attack, but we have lost a great deal more while being there, is it worth it? and why? and please no crap about fighting for our freedom, because i wasnt fighting for the freedom of the american people when i was there.

The media usually has some sort of spin they are trying to put on us from all over the spectrum. I've heard several soldier accounts that the US reports are nothing like what it actually is over there - good or bad.

Wow. Really? I have several Marine buddies that would disagree. I would also disagree that September 11 had anything to do with Iraq. I would be more apt to believe that it has more to do with the attempted assassination of Daddy Bush.

You and I both know regardless of what the media say it is never soldier and Marines never fight for freedom. We fight for the our people we serve with, we fight for each other. I think that is the truth.

Iraq had no longer something to do with the 9/11 assaults they have been all Saudi's........ raq grow to be by no potential approximately weapons of mass destruction, maximum worldwide places have them, Iraq easily lacked it and we knew it. Its no longer approximately conserving our freedom from terrorism, any forward questioning man or woman knew you may no longer convert 1000 years of sectarian hatred to capitalism, lol- AND IRAQ IS THE BREEDING floor FOR TERRORIZM because of the fact WE INVADED and began A conflict PRE-EMPTIVELY! we are there to have an enduring militia presence interior the richest oil area interior the worldwide, because of the fact the worldwide's oil reserves decline.......... Our squaddies are bearing the brunt of the suffering and in case you spoke with families, love-ones or the troops with regard to the suffering, you're able to locate alot of melancholy and heartache, squaddies are careful to speak brazenly although for concern of reprisals or being marked a traitor for expressing any opposition.

"and please no crap about fighting for our freedom,"

Your right!!! You were fighting Baby Bush's war. And if it will help there are many folks here at home that are wanting to know how we can get all of the forces out of there and back home. This whole thing was a big line of BS from day one.

My brother, who is home on leave from Iraq, has told me that the soldiers are ordered not to comment on their personal feelings about Iraq.

I tell you this: My brother is a brave man who knows Bush's troop surge is a joke. Yet He'll be going back to Iraq in 2 months. Pretty much all they are doing is protecting themselves now. They are being targeted to a point that they aren't even really doing patrols.

Funny how the man in the white house thinks differently. I say we plant his azz over there for a while.

The media doesn't have a lot of respect for the lower ranks. They can't stop thinking "these guys actually kill other human beings, how abhorrent!"

But, if you were to aproach the leadership of the anti-war movement and agree to be a posterboy for it, I'm sure you'd get some air time.

Were you stationed around the Iraqi Comedy Clubs??! Nobody ever said troops in harms way were going to be having "fun". There's more to our involvment than just "boots on the ground" over there for image reasons. And with our allies in Afghanistan as well. Think past your own nose, you selfish brat!
No. I didnt serve!! If I had, I would'nt be whinning about my service. Even if I came home injured OR un-injured!!
