I was lulled in with her very-together "representative" and grew to love her very much, but felt totally duped when her true jealous/insecure self barged in one day and totally nuked the relationship...I later learned that I was only the latest of a line of others who had gone through the same deceptive courtship by her...How do you cause these creatures to become extinct??

To Colormehappy:

I really felt that we could end up married, so when the GEM showed up, I suggested couples counseling. She had already been going to one, so I agreed to go to hers...After three sessions, her own counselor told her that "these are not relationship issues, but rather your issues that will manifest themselves anytime, anywhere, with anyone"...I thought to myself "Thank you Jesus!"...She admitted such and said she'd triy to be different, but within a week, the GEM was back...

keep reassuring them. tell them they are beautiful and that they are the only one for you. if that doesn't work throw her into therapy sessions.

sorry, sounds like it was a terrible loss for you. at least she recognized that a problem exists, it's too bad she was unable to, or unwilling to work on it. I think it is great that you stood by her and tried to get her help. it sounds like she cheated herself out of a really great guy. I always believe that life happens as it should and we can always take away something positive from a negative situation (although that may not be easily obtained at the time). Perhaps a blue-eyed beauty would treat you better :)

The same way you make a grumpy person happy.
You CANNOT. It is totally a personal issue. She has obviously had issues in the past and cannot or will not let them go. Insecurity is a sign of unhappiness..you can't make someone else happy. NO amount of "you are the most beautiful.....or I would never be with someone else" can "FIX" her or any jealous person for that fact. They may say they aren't insecure but that is ALL jealous is.

Well, it is human nature to be a little bit jealous at times. However, jealousy in excess is NOT cool. There really isn't a way to cause these "creatures" to become extinct. The only thing you can do is assure your partner that you are ONLY interested in her. Only do this if you are willing to put up with a needy relationship.

The answer to your question is simply this- stay away from them. Without the attention their used to , they will become a wreck, and break down and lash out on everyone, making them unliked even more. I know it sounds mean, but it's sure to work. Good-luck, and stay away from her, and her friends, and others like her. :-)

You can't. All you can do is protect yourself from Jealousy.

And everyone is subject to its clutches - so don't think you're immune.

There is no vaccine. It's an insidious disease. No known cure.

you cant, its a flaw in their personality, these are very insecure people and you can stroke their ego's until the cows come home and it will never be enough to fill the gap or fill the hole in their self centered world.

They are like a virus....just going from host to host. The only thing you can do is refuse to be a host, but you can't change them.

Yes i have. He was always accusing me that i had something going on with my mom's neighbor. I didn't. Until we broke up. Then i started dating him. I think it was just to make my ex mad. It didn't last long.
