I don't know to much about computers so I'd really appreciate the help. I downloaded and purchased a couple programs and registration keys from the internet. I know I should save these to a disc so I don't lose them but I don't know how. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you.

Windwos XP and newer versions have built-in burn program that will alow you to copy on CD. Eventually use Nero, Cyberlink. There is a lot of these programs on the Internet!

When you downloaded those programs from the Internet, you may have downloaded a single file that you run which installed the program itself. If that is the case, you only need to save that install file, and a text file that has the registration code, on your disc. If you need to reinstall the program, you just re-run the install file (like you did the first time you installed it) and type in the registration code. You do not need to save anything else onto the disc to have the program.

Actually, you will need a backup program. But - the main problem with trying to move programs is that it only works 50% of the time, because there are many files buried in different parts of the OS. The best thing to do would be to call the companies and tell them that you are switching computers and need the programs again. They will give you directions on how to do it. If that fails, there are programs that will allow you to transfer programs, but they are expensive

It depends on which program to burn do you have...You only have to open the program, see if they have an opyion that says data Cd then click on it, somewhere it will says add data, just browse and add what you want in that Cd and then hit the burn buttom and that's it
