STEEL PIN BLUES
Last week, I saw a young friend, of several months, in possession of a sharpened steel pin. The type of pin used on building sites to mark out lines. When I saw him with it he was using it to scratch grafitti into the stone work of public building. Realising that he could cause greater damage with it, and getting himself into trouble, I took it upon myself to relive him of the pin, he resisted. I left him with it.
However, I made the custodian of the building aware of the situation. He realising the potential damage that might be exacted out upon the fabric relieved the youngster of the pin.
Since then, I have been subjected to the most foul-mouthed diatribe from this young lad. Its also quite obvious his parents appear to countenance his potential vandalism. He is 11yo.

Contact the local Police Station, and request to speak to a juvenile Officer. If the problem can not be controlled by the parents, then let the Police handle it.

Obviously if his parents are not approachable then your next step is to contact the police. Speak to an officer and hopefully they will speak with the child and offer the appropriate advice.
If this persists afterwards make a note of everything that is said and done. Contact the police again and insist on making a complaint. The youth could be dealt with for any offences committed. Keep a log of any subsequent problems and keep pestering the police. If it persists then the youth may be deemed necessary of an ASBO (Anti Social Behaviour Order). If you dont get the required response from the police write a letter of complaint, this may do the trick.
Hopefull you won't need to go this far. Good luck

It maybe early days, and this lad is ticked off, and in time he may refrain from being foul mouthed.
If the problem persists contact your Local Authority and ask for the anti social behaviour team for your area, and ask for assistance.
I would like to say contact the police, but I am not sure if they would help.
Good Luck

If it is that important to you, I think you should call the police and let them know and make sure you tell him the boy is only 11. Maybe they can scare him a little bit.
If not the police, maybe have the custodian give him a scare and tell him that he is going to call the police.

Speak to a child protection officer at your local authority social services department. If they can't be bothered (mine always scores zero - but the Council Tax is cheap) try the police. If they can't be bothered, give him his pin back - using a 14 pound hammer.

You did the right thing. Although you may be persecuted for it, those persecuting you are not worth acknowledging. It took a lot of sense to do what you did, it's too bad the parents don't have as much sense to discipline their child. You can be proud of yourself, I am. Thank you!

Why did'nt you just leave him alone? It's no skin off your nose. You sound like one of those busy-bodies who can't mind their own business and can't stop poking their noses into other peoples affairs. You should have been Superman.
