I think religion is the backbone of cultural developement historically, people often blame them for "every war ever!". When it seems quite clear to me religion, or the ability to question ones own purpose in life is what really differentiates us from animals. So therefore I will never intentionally insult someone elses beliefs.
I don't have a Religion, but I do have a moral and ethical code, I also believe that I am relevant and there is a purpose to life. I was raised a Catholic and left that behind me, the more of the Bibles interpretations I read the more I felt(I will leave out my true feeling towards this for sensitivity reasons) I needed to be away from it.
My views on Wiccans:
Wiccans appear to be a branch/offshoot/sect within or around Paganism that is primarily apparent in the U.S or differentiated more there(I could not count the number of Pagans I have met in England, I have never met someone calling themselves "a Wiccan"). If there views are similar to those of the Pagans I have met, they have my respect. In all honesty I would like to learn more about them.

I love Wiccans and Pagans. I don't actually know any (except out here), but still. I love their inner peace and the harmonic hum they give off.
My ONLY criticism has to do with fashion. I admit I don't know any personally so I may be talking out of my ***, but the ones I've seen on TV are really into the goth look. And the robes.
Now I have no issues with ceremonial clothing, but that whole look just gets on my nerves. If I were a Pagan, I'd insist on choosing my own look. Which would include a fair amount of black, but also the occasional softer pastel.
I hope that didn't sound too bitchy.

I'm an atheist, myself, but I ideologically agree with spirituality.
My brother is a buddhist, and my father's wife is a shammanist- all unconventional religions for our area, as we live in the U.S...and the christian right is huge here.
I think that whatever connects you, clears you, and makes you feel closer to yourself and your own consciousness is right for you. I've always actually been fascinated by Wicca, but not daring enough to find someone logical and easy-going enough to introduce me to it.
A lot of the pagan, earth-mother religions seem to over meditation, chanting, or task rituals that bring people out of daily life and enable them to spend time thinking, feeling, connecting with something other than the rat race. How could that not be positive?
Wicca was just recognized by the U.S. government, and the Wiccan symbol is now allowed on headstones at the Arlington National Cemetaryfor fallen soldiers. That doesn't mean most Americans are enlightened or tolerant to it's idea, and there's tons of prejudice out there.
Rise above it. Find your own spirituality.

I need to start my own religion, there just isnt one in this world that goes with my views on religion. I am a Christian who believes in science. As in, I believe in the Big Bang theory but I believe that God made the Big Bang himself, and I believe in evolution and other scientific facts. I also believe alot of what the Bible says. So you see where I am kinda screwed im trying to find a religion like that?
Good for you that your Wiccan. It means that you think for yourself and arent swayed easily upon the opponions of others when it comes to religion. Ive had a few Wiccan friends and theyre pretty cool actually.

I am all for respect for religious alternatives and for civil discourse among individuals with widely differing views.
However, this does not mean that any and all religions are not open to criticism, polemic, rebuttal and/or refutation in any or all of their teachings.
It is not simply a matter of opinion. It is also a matter of argument. Some religious beliefs can be better sustained by argument than others.
There are practical consequences of religious beliefs, and where the consequences are harmful, I think the arguments against those beliefs are very important.

I've spent many years studying ancient religions, including Wicca. It is not a young religion, but rather the revival of the Ole Religion. Today, I settle somewhere between it, and old Native Spirituality. Pantheist is the label I use to discribe my belief system and I delight in the fact that modern science actually reinforces our beliefs.
We are all connected!
Blessed Be our Earth Mother and ALL her children! ; )

I think that any spiritual path (or none) that gives a person peace and allows them to be honest with themselves and get through life, is a great thing.
Right now I'm studying Taoism and I'm fascinated with some of the profound things I am learning and trying to apply to my life.
I'm also a pagan and I always look forward to pagan holidays.

I'm pagan/wiccan and I like my religion. I don't have to fear every day of going to hell. Frankly it has made my life a lot better and it fits to my views of the world and the things in it.

My thought is that there is only one truth. It is illogical to believe that all beliefs are valid. So, I know Christianity is true and the only valid religion. Therefore, all others are invalid and false.
